One day I was happily going along and then God spoke to me and just outright said that many “Christians” will be damned to Hell. I shook my head vigorously and tried to clean my ears because I wasn’t sure I heard Him right, so I repeated His words as a question, Did you just say many “Christians” will go to…. HELL?

And then the holy scriptures spoken by the one and only Lord Jesus replied, “Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Wow! With that scripture, I think we all need to cease from all activity and truly meditate for a good while on it’s grave implications. The scripture is basically saying that just because you call Jesus your Lord and you maintain an outward confession to Christianity, and you may even be a great preacher, have a powerful healing and deliverance ministry, you may be actively participating in good “Christian causes” or even be a missionary… and yet still go to HELL. Why? Because an outward “Christian”confession or merely saying “Jesus is Lord” or “being dedicated to full-time ministry” is not truly an indication that you are a real or true Christian. Remember the scripture Proverbs 21:2. “All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the LORD evaluates the motives of the heart.” Also God says, “I the LORD search the heart and motives, I test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” Jeremiah 17:10

You may actually see two people who do the exact same things in their lives, who go to church, give to the poor, claim Jesus as Lord, who even sacrifice their lives in Christian ministry and in the end one goes to Heaven and one goes to Hell. Why? Because authentic Christianity has little to do with outward appearances or “Christian activity” but everything to do with true motives of the heart!
This is why Paul the beloved Apostle told all of us, “Examine yourselves, whether you are truly in the faith; question your motives and try your ways. Do you really know your inner being, if the Lord Jesus is actually in you, unless you are counterfeits or imposters?” 2 Corinthians 13:5
I believe like the late Leonard Ravenhill used to say, “The church is full of empty people.” The sanctuary is packed with Christian professors but not Christ possessors. If you take Christ out of Christianity then you are left with the religion of Ianity. Ianity is when we are truly void of Jesus (He’s not our first love, our passion, our one true thing, our daily bread) but we profess Christianity for our own self centered ambitions. It could be for prestige, money or for the praise of men. It could just be that we fear death and want to go to heaven… but it is an empty false hope because we do not have the real thing. You might seriously call into question whether you have authentic Christianity if Jesus is pretty much a “church on Sunday” thing… but little more than that during your week.
But you may judge yourself as a “good Christian” because of all the things you do or don’t do.

However, the Bible also says this about the human heart- “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9
The truth is, even WE DON’T KNOW our own hearts! Every man deceives himself and thinks he’s a “good person”. Police detectives have interviewed sadistic serial killers who genuinely thought they were a good person… some of them even thought they were “Christian”! If you think you’re a good person, you too are self deceived. The truth is none of us are “good”… without God and none of us are “Christian” without Christ! We can not be “holy” without the “Holy Spirit” in us. Jesus, knowing the heart of man, said that “no man is good but God alone”. Mark 10:18
We need to pray like King David, a man after God’s own heart, “Search me, O God, and know my heart, my true motives; Test me and know my real thoughts; And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalm 139:23-24

Only God can break through our self delusions about our “goodness” to truly see our utter depravity and wickedness. Only God can give us a revelation to our true hearts and motives. And when the revelation comes, we will see our wickedness in the light of His holiness, our hatred in the light of His love, our great need for salvation in the light of His glorious redemption. This is when the epiphany of the soul happens, the radical new birth, the transformation into a new creation. When we are utterly ashamed, utterly dismayed at our wicked souls, utterly broken and weeping, then we are ready for the hand of God’s mercy to “lead us in the everlasting way”. If you have never been broken, deeply ashamed and weeping over your sins then you have never been truly converted to authentic Christianity. “For true godly sorrow produces true repentance that leads to true salvation without any regret, whereas worldly sorrow is depression and despair which produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10
Whatever happened to this type of Holy Ghost conviction? When men fell upon their faces in great anguish of soul to truly repent of their sins and be forever changed into a cleansed child of God? Why are preachers so mamby pamby and can not preach with Holy Spirit conviction and fire that consumes the dross of men’s hearts? Why the fluffy motivational sermonettes that coddle men in their sins and self righteous “goodness”? Much of the mainstream church is based on this self righteous way and the “Christians” who maintain their “goodness” and “Christian virtue” to the snubbing of others are truly not apart of the true kingdom of God.

Why did Jesus tell us “that our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees”? Because the truth is, all our good works and “goodness” apart from Christ in our hearts is self righteousness and trying to establish ourselves as “good.” The Pharisee’s righteousness was based on “Ianity” and Christ was not at work in them to do the will of His Father. So the simple truth is, doing greater “Christian” deeds than the Pharisee’s is not what Jesus meant by “exceeding their righteousness”. We must put on Christ’s righteousness which is not based on our goodness but His. True righteousness (simply meaning being right with God) is not based on perfect “Christian” performance or that we are so holy and pure that we never make mistakes or even fall into sin on a bad day. It has to do with Christ’s atonement on the cross and always going back to the fountain of blood that will cleanse our hearts and minds from the evil stains that sometimes fall upon us on this journey. We will always need the Savior and we will always need His blood.

Of course this does not mean that we willfully continue sinning in thought, word and deed because we have assumed that God must forgive us through Jesus. Such thinking is dangerously apostate. Sin is never a light or trivial thing. No true child of God, in love with Jesus would ever brazenly, presumptuously and consistently commit sin like this. After a true conversion and seeing the true love of God, we are broken children who never want to hurt our loving Father, we love our Lord Jesus. And if we fall into sin, it is but a brief moment and we are back on our faces, weeping for cleansing, weeping for permanent change into His beautiful image. If we carelessly sin every day without a deep sense of having a holy purpose and we have no deep conviction or loathing for sinful things, then this is a good indication that our Christian profession is not genuine. As true Christians, we cannot constantly sin willfully and brazenly… it’s just not in the mix of a humble, broken, true child of God who has had a true revelation of God’s holiness and love. The Holy Spirit living in us is what keeps us holy and from sinning all the time.

Today, wicked, depraved, perverted men and women have street parades and go on smut talk shows arrogantly and brazenly promoting their rebellious pride and freedom from God’s ways and laws. They unashamedly practice evil and want all the world to love and worship them for it! Our society, our culture, our nation, our government has totally and unscrupulously embraced the ways of the lawless one. America has become completely corrupt and lawless. As Isaiah prophesied from the head to toe, there is no soundness in the nation. Most of our politicians, judges, lawyers and military have been swept away by the lawless one. There is no shame or embarrassment for practicing depraved and evil behaviors. Even pedophiles and unmentionable perversion is being promoted as tolerable and acceptable now. No instead, depravity and immorality has become trendy and cool. The laws of our nation are rapidly changing to promote this lawlessness and punish and imprison the righteous who hold to time honored, traditional morality and authentic Christian convictions. Yes, we are in the very last days and the lawless one has been let loose upon the earth and is deceiving the whole world. “Knowing his time is short, he has now come down with great wrath against humanity and the saints.” Revelation 12:22
Lawlessness is also found in those “Christians” and the many harlot churches that promote a very different gospel. A gospel that says that God and Christ has now ceased from judging anyone… that God’s grace allows us to freely sin and tolerate evil within ourselves and others. No real repentance or godly sorrow required to be truly saved. No transformation in the new birth, to change and live holy through Jesus’s Lordship. The Bible predicted this would become prevalent- “I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4

The whole world is going the way of the lawless one. Many “Christians” are in for a rude awakening come the day of judgment. They will be exposed as counterfeits, as cowards, fearing men, that walked in lies and not in the truth, as enemies of the true cross of Jesus. They will see that though they profess Jesus as Lord, He was never their Lord. Salvation is not to those who claim Him Lord but to those who make Him Lord.
Judgment is soon coming. Flee the wrath of God to come. If you are a “Christian” who gets your convictions from Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Phil, from Hollywood’s demoralized movie propaganda machine, from the mainstream social engineered news media and the talking heads on CNN, from the endless smut literature of this depraved era, then you are already so deceived and headstrong that this message will probably have no impact.
However, if you begin to read the precious, holy scriptures, God’s Word and beg the Spirit of God to give you mercy to understand it. I guarantee you will begin to see your own utter depravity and wickedness. You will see your compromise and half-heartedness as pure evil. You will see your religion as Ianity. You will see your sin as utterly abominable in the sight of a holy, loving God. You will see how far this nation has fallen. Pray for mercy to be broken… to fall upon the rock and be broken to pieces rather than the rock fall on you and crush you to powder… to somehow breakthrough the stubborn, opinionated lies that your heart is plagued with… yes, no more self deception, you need God and you need His true salvation.

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”
1 Peter 4:17-18
Much Love, Bro. Heath
