Are You Whitewashed Or Washed White?

(Yes, a message that may take you a whopping 10 minutes to actually read but could make an eternal difference.)

Nobody likes a hypocrite… unless you are one. Hypocrisy and pretentious people are repulsive to anyone who tries to live transparent and real. This is because for the most part our souls and psyches are hot wired to truly relate to others in honesty and sincerity.
Have you ever met a person you knew was being insincere and “hamming it up” in their charisma and charm to impress you or try to manipulate a situation to get what they wanted? (kinda like a majority of television evangelists and so called “anointed preachers”) I bet it left a very bad taste in your mouth. Unfortunately, if we are honest, most of us have participated in some form of hypocrisy and insincerity at times in our life. But having a spontaneous insincere moment is much different than living a lie of trying to be or “appear to be” someone you are not.

Personally, I’d rather hang around a foul mouthed sinner who is sincere and transparent in who they really are, than to have the fellowship of hypocrites and overly pious religious people who I am uncertain as to who they really are. I think that’s why Jesus chose smelly sinful fisherman over squeaky clean pharisees. It’s better to be in the presence of someone who is transparent in their motives even if they are unrefined and sinful than to walk with a whitewashed, two faced person who could easily turn on you. Proverbs 27:6 says “The wounds of a friend are better than the kisses of an enemy.” Psalm 55:21 says “The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.” Because the truth is, hypocrites are really just very dishonest, untrustworthy souls who are an enemy to your soul, not a friend. They may flatter you and tell you what your flesh wants to hear (kinda like a majority of television evangelists and so called “anointed preachers”) but in the end they will rob you of your money and leave you damaged or destroyed.

One of the harshest truths that Jesus told was concerning hypocrites, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. You blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like to white washed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity!”

You see, we all have gone astray and become corrupt. No, not one of us are righteous. All mankind is evil and wicked through and through.
God is repulsed by hypocrites because they whitewash their evil hearts to deceive not only themselves but others into thinking they are genuinely virtuous and pious. But deep down they love sin and envy the sinners who frolic in the filth of lawless, fleshly pleasures. “For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his sin cannot be exposed and hated.” Psalm 36:2
Instead of being truly transformed and “born again” to begin to hate sin and all forms of evil thoughts and motives, they whitewash their outward appearance, “become religious”, join a church, and conform their personality to a bunch of “do’s and don’ts” set forth in whatever religious group they are a part of.
But whitewashing or “christianizing” a sin loving heart does not qualify as a true conversion anymore than putting a band-aid over a rapid form of cancer does any good.

Religious people are the biggest hypocrites because they circumvent the only true way of being cleansed and made holy by “pretending” or having an outward show of Godliness” but they deny the true power to be Godly for real! As the scripture says, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof…” 2 Timothy 3:5

This is the difference between the true church and the harlot church. The true church are people (not any certain denomination or church organization) who have repented of their sins and had a true conversion where they no longer love sin or want to make a practice of evil doing. They want to live for God and His ways. This doesn’t mean they are perfect or completely sinless. As long as we are in this fallen world, there may be occasions where even the righteous may fall, the saint may stumble… but we don’t wallow in our sins. We don’t enjoy them like the sinner does. We abhor them and if we fall, we immediately feel the crushing sadness of hurting God and our testimony. We are quick to repent and strive to overcome the temptations that led us to the fall. Our hearts have truly been changed and transformed that we no longer take pleasure in sinning.

The harlot church or false converts of Christianity are also people (not any certain denomination or church organization) who instead of having a true “aha” moment of a godly sorrow and shame over their sin loving hearts… and instead of a true repentance to sincerely want to be delivered from their sins, they circumvent or find a pathway they like better to blend in with the true church… (the “tares” that are sown by the enemy which appear to be “wheat”… as Jesus warned in Matthew 13.)

They are religionists who in pretense having taken on Christianity as their preferred religion but they are no more truly converted as the atheist or Satanist. They have been deceived and somehow missed the cross of Christ that stands just right in front of them! Instead of the cross being a real, revolutionary experience in their hearts and souls, the cross is only a symbol on a church building, a necklace they wear or a bumper sticker they have on their car. Hypocrites or white washed religious people prefer “symbolism over substance”. They prefer APPEARING righteous and virtuous rather than truly BEING righteous and virtuous. They like PRETENDING to be in the role of a Christian rather than living with Christ in them (the Holy Spirit) to change them into a new creation. They prefer working on their charisma and personality, the outward man, rather than working on their true character and soul, the inward man.

Thus, the white washed religionist will be sadly and rudely awakened on Judgment day to find that his or her religion or “churchianity” was a fraud and an epic failure. Indeed, “Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

But the truth is, we don’t have to be whitewashed. We can be washed white! We don’t have to wear self righteous garments which are “filthy rags”. We can put on the Lord and be clothed in His white garments of holiness and love, washed in the blood of our Savior! We don’t have to worry about “appearing holy or pious before men”. We can truly be holy and pious before our God!

We don’t have to pretend that we are Christians who hate sin. We can truly be followers of Christ who hate sin because His Spirit is within us, transforming us to hate sin! It’s a beautiful salvation! It’s a real salvation! Yes, God wants us to truly be saved from our sins! Imagine that! “You shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people FROM their sins!” Matthew 1:21 Wow, now that’s pure religion, undefiled before God! Pray that prayer- Jesus, here’s what I want… the real deal.. nothing less than true salvation, Jesus!

Jesus never said the journey to follow Him would be easy peasy. He said the very opposite. He said that to be His disciple we would have to “take up our cross”… that we would be persecuted. That, “yea, all that live Godly would suffer persecution” and some of us even to die a martyr. I think this is why most take the easier route of hypocrisy and “pretentious religion”. It’s easy to act like a soldier than to be a real one.

But personally, I can’t settle for pretending to be a Christian. Because there is no prize or reward in that way. “The hypocrite’s hope shall perish.” Job 8:13 I’d rather go back and be a wicked sinner than to live the life of a hypocrite. But since the Spirit of God is within me, I hate every false way, especially an empty sin loving and selfish life that hurts me, God and everyone around me.
I want to be in that remnant few… in that number when the true saints go marching in… and some angel looks and says “Who the heck are those people?” And another angels says to him, “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have WASHED their robes, and made them WHITE in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:14

Oh precious friends, are you whitewashed or washed white?

Confessions Of A Wind Up Clanging Monkey Toy

Yes, it’s true. I confess… there are many times I have been a wind up clanging monkey toy. God told me so.
You see, I have come to realize that all the intellectual persuasion or eloquent words that I can muster up to try to “reveal God and His truths” to others is truly a vain and pathetic attempt by itself… because in the end, “God and His truth” can only be revealed through love. “Speaking truth” or even “writing truth” may have a slight influence on the hearts and minds of people but truly the only real persuasion that reaches people in the inner core of their soul is “living truth”.

People are little impressed with “our words” these days because quite frankly, “words are a dime a dozen”. Words really are.. cheap. It’s easy to speak or write words, even “truthful” words. But it’s a lot more work to actually love someone. Words can not feed hungry bellies. Words can not clothe the poor, can not shelter the homeless. Our words can impress the intellects of others and that’s about it.

The devil is into “words” even, “truthful words” as long as love doesn’t show up. Some of the most religious people I know can talk a very awesome, convincing “Christian” talk. They have actually talked so much that they have convinced themselves that they are the “real deal”. Because they can quote the scriptures forwards and backwards, they can argue their doctrinal positions with clear articulation and persuasion, they can even charismatically move a crowd into a pep rally frenzy but unfortunately, none of that impresses God or the Holy Spirit… In fact, it is a substitute for the Holy Spirit who only operates in love. Paul said, “But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the SPEECH of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is NOT IN WORD, but in power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20

The devil likes to create “wind up clanging monkey toys” in the church. And God has properly rebuked me for allowing the devil to “piggyback” this very religious spirit on me as well. These type of people in the church are always “speaking great swelling words” about their religious convictions, their doctrinal positions, etc. They are usually very easy to engage in conversation which usually turns into a one sided, over powering monologue of their religious perspective. Many times they are argumentative and quarrelsome. They thrive on contention and a spirit of confrontation… and to put icing on that cake, they actually think themselves as great spiritual guides to the “blind” and “ignorant”. How many times have I seen a religious person get a piece of knowledge that they think has been given to them “exclusively” by God and begin to spout it as gospel fact and crush anyone who dare have an alternative viewpoint. Since now they have a corner on the “truth” it becomes their duty and calling to lambast or ostracize anyone with an opposing view. Instead of seeking to understand and to love someone by showing kindness and patience, they rudely cut people off and they do it thinking they do God a service. But our brother Paul tells us, “And the servant of the Lord must not strive (be quarrelsome); but be gentle to all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” 2 Timothy 2:24-26

However, A wind up clanging monkey toy is not necessarily identified by contentious or obnoxious behavior. Sometimes they use sweet, buttery, deceptive words that seem benevolent and even inspirational. They have perfected the art of charm and persuasion to manipulate the heartstrings of others for some sort of gain. They use words to stir the emotions and feed the egos of others. Instead of walking in real love, they walk in a pretentious love to get what they want. Their clanging cymbal is a soft spoken or charismatic word that soothes and tickles the ears of the hearer. It doesn’t speak the truth but instead speaks falsehood and lies dressed up as truth. These people are usually very successful and end up holding a bag full of gold stolen from those who willingly gave it to them. They do not walk in sacrificial love but they can sure talk it.

You see, the secret of the true, “life changing gospel” is not in the “words” that are preached but in the power of love that is demonstrated through the caring hearts and good deeds of the preacher. Yes, get rid of your preacher if he does not demonstrate a true compassionate heart of love and a lifestyle of charitable deeds. Even if he is the most intellectual, eloquent speaker or has the most charming, charismatic personality, he is useless to God’s kingdom if he does not truly care for God’s people and live to love others.

By the way, the pastor’s job is not just to deliver a couple great sermonettes every week and then be some plastic smiling greeter as people funnel out of the church building. His whole life is to be a sacrificial servant who loves visiting widows and orphans, loving the poor and reaching out to the misfortunate and broken. But American decadent culture and “religion” has created “church hirelings” who preach nice motivational “words” on Sunday but wine and dine in their multi million dollar fancy homes and drive their Cadillacs as part of the “benefits package” for their meager “words” or verbal or written contributions to the kingdom. But tell me, how can you relate to the poor and be a “sacrificial servant of the Most High God” living far above the normal standards of most common, ordinary folks? Are these ministers really showing the love of God through a benevolent, selfless, sacrificial life to those around them struggling to pay bills while they milk them for more offerings to pay the mortgage on their sprawling five mansion estate? Wow, how is it so many church folks are duped into sending their love offerings and tithes to these wind up clanging monkey toys?
“But whoever has this world’s good, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18

The truth is, our words or speeches, no matter how passionate or motivational or “scripturally sound”, they are not the litmus test to our Christianity. It is our manner of living. It is how we treat people, all peoples- the believer and the unbeliever, the “saved” and the lost, the sinners and the saints. It is our love- our kindness, patience, mercy and ability to forgive quickly and readily. And how quickly we can recognize our own sins and shortcomings, and readily humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness.
It is how compassionate we are when we see others suffering, not to turn a blind eye or deaf ear to those less fortunate. It is how we cheerfully and selflessly give up our own “stuff” to meet the needs of others. It is how we remain unattached to the material things of this world and will at the drop of a hat, give it to Jesus by giving it to the lease of these His brethren. This is love. This is the “Christianity” that our Lord Jesus demonstrated- not just spoke with mere words.

I confess… I have been a wind up clanging monkey toy. I have deceived myself and my “religion” with the “knowledge” and “words” I thought were truth. But truth is not merely a perspective in the mind but a lifestyle lived out. “If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” James 1:26-27

I want to genuinely ask forgiveness from my brothers and sisters in Christ and also to those of you who are not yet believers to forgive me for such hypocrisy and vain religion. I hurt many of you with my clanging cymbals. I turned some of you away with my lack of true love or care for you soul. Most of all, I misrepresented my Lord and Savior Jesus with mixed signals and double standards. Please forgive me. I do not want to be a clanging cymbal, or a useless servant and a hindrance to the gospel of Jesus. I do not want to one day stand before the Lord exposed as a “wind up clanging monkey toy”. Please forgive me and pray for me. I want to properly love people with the sacrificial love of Jesus. Jesus did so much for me and I just want to do now as much as I can to share His love with others… without the “religious trappings” of “talking the talk but not fully walking the walk”.

“If I speak with the tongues (the language) of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1

Yes, the world is full of hypocrites but we can only judge one of them- ourself. We can only change one of them too, ourself. So I resign “my religion” to the dungheap of self righteous filthy rags. I no longer stand on any virtue of my own to cast a condescending eye towards others… I stand on Christ alone. And My judgment is given to me to judge myself, first and foremost… to “take the beam out of my own eye” so that later I can “help take the speck out of my brother’s eye”.

Someone once said, “Preach the gospel to others and if necessary use words.” Jesus said it this way, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works (not just good words) and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Lastly, I put away my clanging cymbals. I no longer want to make noise… I want to produce light. Light, so that others might see God’s love in action.

“For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.” 1 Thessalonians 1:5

“And I, brothers, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:1-4

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Have you ever truly acknowledged or have been even remotely aware that your heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked?
Worldly wisdom and motivational speakers everywhere say things like “Follow your heart”, “be true to thy self” and other nice and cute phrases that seem to inspire us to trust in our own hearts. But should we really trust in what God says is “deceitful above all else and desperately wicked”?

Until we get a true revelation of who we are as “sinners” or “wicked souls”, we will do what most of the human race does, we will deceive ourselves, justify our evil hearts and veneer the selfish, sinful, worm infested rottenness of our core being as good, decent and even “righteous”. Why? Because the human heart within us can mask our true evil intentions, our self centered motives, our ability to manipulate others to get what we want from them, be it, money, respect, power, even their love.

Most of the time, we manipulate our own hearts and live under enough benevolent and “good virtues” that it is enough to whitewash our true inward condition. Basically we deceive ourselves in this way- because there is “some good” in what we “do” and how we “feel” or “think” in our overall lives, it is very easy for us to marginalize or discount completely the great amount of selfishness, the lust of our flesh, the pride of our intellect, the duplicity of our motives.

Like peering into a crystal clear bottle of spring water thinking it is refreshing and invigoratingly healthy for us, unknown to us that it has been laced with odorless, transparent and toxic chemicals that will eventually kill us. Our own “goodness” is a stinking dung heap and our self righteousness as “filthy rags”.

We drink our own kool-aid of the mixture, the duplicity of our experiential knowledge of both “good” and “evil”. Like Adam and Eve, we cover our nakedness, our shameful wickedness to create a buffer between a conscience smitten by guilt and conviction, to try to appear “unfallen” and “virtuous”. But the truth is, our hearts are so corrupt and manipulative that we successfully manipulate our own marred image of who we really are and what lies just beneath the superficial exterior of our “goodness and virtue”. Who can know the wickedness of our own heart? Only God knows and only by His Holy Spirit can we be exposed and awakened to our personal utter depravity.
Only a great soul searching moment where we peer deeply and directly at our sinful, selfish heart, can begin to unravel our bondage and slavery to the deception of a wicked heart.

As a matter of fact, the church is filled with very “religious” and “self righteous” folks who constantly condemn sin and evil in others but never once peer into their own wicked souls. These are known as hypocrites and the “self righteous”. However, don’t get me wrong, Jesus never said we didn’t have the right to judge or condemn sinfulness, what He said was “first go and take the plank out of your own eye and then you will be able to see clearly to remove the speck in your brother’s eye.” As true converts and Christians, we must first realize the utter wickedness of our own hearts, we must then repent and “take out the plank in our own lives” that is, live a life of holiness and purity before God, then we will be able to gently and lovingly remove the speck in our brother’s eye. We will be able to make “righteous judgments” not according to our flesh but according to God’s Spirit.

However, if we condemn sin in others while condoning it in our own hearts then we are “whitewashed tombs full of dead men’s bones”. We are hypocrites and our religion is worthless… even worse than worthless, it is actually a hindrance and a stumbling block to others who will never come to Christ or be set free from sin because of our double standard. Our duplicity of soul puts the sacrifice of Christ on the cross to an “open shame”. We may confess to “know Christ” but we “deny Him in our works”. “Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, LET EVERY ONE THAT NAMES THE NAME OF CHRIST DEPART FROM INIQUITY.” 2 Timothy 2:19

As hypocrites, who do not see our utter depravity, or repent and live holy lives, we actually help send souls to hell. We make converts who are just like us and “even more a child of hell than ourselves” as Jesus warned.
Knowing our true “desperately wicked hearts”, does not make us then justify who we are and go on living in our depravity in some sort of cheap “grace” religious experience. A true revelation of our sin and selfishness will cause us to have as the scriptures say, “Godly sorrow” which then leads to “Godly repentance” which then leads to true salvation (salvation FROM our sin). 2 Corinthians 7:10

As true believers, the scriptures clearly teach that we are “set free from our sin”, that we are no longer “slaves to sin”, that we are called to holiness and purity, to being slaves of righteousness”.
“Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might TAKE AWAY our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him KEEPS ON SINNING. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

Dear children, DO NOT LET ANYONE DECEIVE YOU. (even your own heart) The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil which is sin. NO ONE WHO IS BORN OF GOD CONTINUES TO MAKE A PRACTICE OF SINNING, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” 1 John 3:4-10

Living a holy, sanctified life in Christ only happens when we as believers have a “deep probing” from the Holy Spirit who exposes our wicked hearts and shows us our utter selfishness and sin. This is how a sinner comes to a place of remorse and repentance. Any “salvation” experience less than that is highly questionable.

So in closing, my dear friends and family, has God’s Spirit hovered over the depth of your soul to reveal to you your desperately wicked heart? Has that great revelation, that divine exposure of God’s holiness caused your soul to be in anguish and sorrow over your sinfulness? Has the awakening of who you really are, moved you to tears, Godly sorrow and shame and true repentance?
True repentance is not “feeling sorry” but actually “being sorry” in so much that you want to change, you want to be transformed and be made new. A true believer who is “born again” will go through this “moment of truth”, this moment when the fire of God’s holiness consumes you and reveals your “undoneness”, your “nakedness”.

If all you’ve done is “raised your hand’ in church “with no one looking around” or filled out a church membership card, or made a superficial confession of faith then I am afraid you have not been truly come to true repentance and salvation… and this is vital… for you don’t want to stand before God on judgment day and be exposed as a fraud, as a hypocrite and a false convert. It’s better to be exposed now and forsake your deceptions of thinking you are a “pretty good Christian” in your self righteousness and hypocrisy. It’s better to let God expose your wicked heart to you. Please, don’t be one of those who Jesus turns away because you were truly not one of His.
“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'” Matthew 7:22-23

Oh dear friends and family, pray this prayer as King David prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24
This is Bro Heath and I speak the truth to you in love. I will have to give an account for your soul. And besides, I want you to enjoy the riches of this beautiful faith and hope we have in Jesus. God is so good and He is so beautiful!

Will You Really Die For Him?

I have a question burning in my spirit, for you.

Will you really die for Him? Or should I ask, will you really live for Him? Oh I have heard a lot of people say, oh I will be a martyr for the Lord… I will die for Jesus… But the truth is, You will not die for any cause that you have not lived for… No, you won’t die for Jesus if you don’t first live for Him! You think that some how you’re character is going to sprout boldness and courage in the face of death… to give your ultimate all to die for Jesus… but in life you never lived for Him with your all… I don’t think so! If we are too cowardly to take a bold stand for Jesus now in this evil age of compromise, against sin, the devil and the world, do you really think that we’ll suddenly become a men or women of conviction and faith when they threaten to throw us to the lions, to lay our heads on the chopping block?

No, if we compromise our faith and moral convictions now because we don’t want to seem too fanatical, too radical, we don’t want to be too bold in our love for Jesus and our faith in Him, lest we look uncool and out of touch with the modern lukewarm, social church and our acceptance for the ever changing culture towards decadence and sin… oh we may get persecuted as haters by the militant unbelievers and sinners because we don’t readily embrace false religions or sexual perversion.

I am quite sure that when they give an ultimatum to convert to this false religion or die, or convert to accepting immorality and decadence as a new citizen in our new world order or we’re going to put you in prison or kill you, that we’re going to do as we have done already when persecution has been merely verbal and a bit of a social pressure. We will totally cave in and compromise our Christian principles and moral convictions to those who confront us. We will most likely deny the faith altogether when threatened with death. Why? Because if it’s too hard for your flesh to resist sin and temptation than what makes you think your flesh will resist being thrown to the lions when your whole life at stake.

If you didn’t crucify your flesh spiritually with it’s ungodly passions and lusts as Jesus commanded us to do, to take up our cross daily to follow Him, then do you really think you’re going to submit to being crucified literally if threatened by such persecution? If you didn’t burn with a radical passion and commitment to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, do you really believe that if threatened to be burned alive like other martyrs of the past, that you will readily submit yourself to the flames? I don’t think so!

I think the truth is, that the great falling away or apostasy prophesied in the last days, that is being fulfilled even now, is not evident by empty churches… but as Leonard Ravenhill used to say, the churches are filled with empty people! That what we have is a lot of unbelieving believers… a lot of those who profess Christianity, but do not actually posses the true Christ of Christianity.

And a Christless Christianity is nothing more than Ianity! It’s a religion of self-exaltation and self-piety. And I believe that most of these people in churches who maintain a nice Sunday religion, but Jesus is not their all in all, every day of the week, if confronted with the threat of death, if they do not compromise or deny their faith, they will suddenly turn tail and quit the church and deny ever being involved with Christ or His gospel. You see, the truth is, only those who have committed their all to something worth living for, will commit their all to that self same something worth dying for…

Years ago I heard a story that in China or North Korea that soldiers with guns burst into a local church and they threatened everyone inside that only those who denied their faith in Christ were free to leave and there were quite a few people who got up and walked out. Those handful of Christians who stayed then witnessed the soldiers put down their weapons. They apologized to those remaining Christians and said, We too are Christians, but we needed to weed out the unbelievers. We want to worship with only true believers.
What would you have done?

It’s time for professing Christians everywhere to be fully committed to Jesus or understand that to be anything less is to be like Judas who betrayed the Son of God with a kiss… We betray our Lord with a kiss of compromise, a kiss of lukewarm love and half hearted commitment… We need to either grow some backbone and quit allowing sinful flesh to rule our lives or militant evildoers to intimidate us or we mind’s well go ahead and join the wicked in their vanity fair. There really is no middle ground. You can’t keep riding the fence, if you do, you will surely end up falling off on the wrong side.

God doesn’t have cowards in His kingdom either. We need to be bold in our faith and declaration that Jesus is Lord, Lord of our lives. Not just in word but in the truth of how we live. The wicked and cowardly flee when no one is even pursuing them but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
And like the many Christian martyrs who died in the spectacle of the Roman arena, although they were subdued by lions unto death, their spirits were more courageous and fearless than those savage beasts… and their witness to what it means to truly follow Jesus remains with us today.

I think of the faith of the early church, men like Stephen the first martyr, who stood boldly to rebuke the hypocrisy of the religious leaders in Israel. He didn’t fear men and their angry faces, He feared God alone… and his faith and convictions cost him his life as they stoned him to death.

Stephen had something that casual churchgoers don’t have, He had a belief in something so strong, that he would die for that belief. He had a heart full of passion for Jesus alone, not for materialistic things, for houses or cars or football or the next electronic gadget. Stephen could die for His Lord because He lived for Him that even his enemies said that his face shined like an angel’s.

What about us?
There’s still hope, and God’s mercy, if we ourselves have been cowards and failed to live for Jesus like we should, to turn around and become the person that God wants us to be… we can become part of the assembly of hearts courageous… We can say to the core of our souls, I am committed to Jesus alone, I forsake all to follow Him. The apostle Peter, who at first denied the Lord and even deserted Jesus at the cross, Jesus pulled him out of that miry pit of compromise and lukewarmness and set his feet upon a rock and in the end Peter would go to his own cross and die for His precious Savior and Lord.

The beloved Apostle Paul also lived with the fear of God and would not compromise the heavenly vision he had received. His life was totally dedicated to Christ. He gave his all, even in the midst of the most intense suffering and persecution. And when they warned Paul that he would suffer great persecution and that his life might even be taken, he said, “none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear to myself… I am ready for my life to be offered up to God as a sweet sacrifice for Him.”
Paul could say this from the core of his soul because he was fully committed, and his life showed it.

Oh brothers and sisters, I truly believe we are living in the very last days and that our faith in the coming days and months is about to be tested greatly, even to the shedding of our blood, for some of us. Jesus said about the last generation of believers, “you’ll be hated by all nations for my name’s sake”. We see the evil tide rising through militant Islam, militant Satanism, militant atheism, militant hedonism and sexual perversion… Christians are being slaughtered more and more both literally and through liberal media propaganda, a social engineering to indoctrinate the masses against our Biblical, God fearing convictions… to say we are bigots and bullys and haters because we dare to take a stand against immorality and the decadence of this age.

In just the last few years, I have seen America in utter free fall and she is losing the last bit of Christian persona… As Revelation says, “Fallen, Fallen, Babylon the great is fallen, and has become the dwelling place of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean, impure and hateful bird!” I hear many prophetic words about America being Mystery Babylon, and that she is about to fall… I believe she has already fallen and the only thing left is the judgment of our God against the great wickedness and compromise of this nation.

Either we take a stand against this evil tide rising, so fast and furious or we get swept away by it. Our sons and daughters need to see that we are fully committed, fully engaged, giving our all to Jesus or they too will compromise. We must settle it once and for all in our hearts, as for me and my house, we are going to serve the Lord… and like the song says, this world has nothing for us and whatever comes our way through the fire or pouring rain, we won’t be shaken! We won’t be shaken! We will trust in the Lord Our God. We will not compromise His holy standards!

As the wickedness comes in like a flood, we will raise up the standard of holiness and proclaim the truth with our lives. And because we have been living for the Lord, no, not perfect, but with everything in us, we strive to live holy and to love people and love Jesus, then and then only, will we have the ability, the character and integrity within us, to die for His precious name…

So when you’re threaten to be thrown to the lions, will you stare them down as a bold lion yourself because Jesus is more to you than a symbol, a cliché, a passing fad, a ritual religion. He is your precious friend, Saviour and Lord. He is your all in all. You passionately love him and there’s no way you will be ashamed of the one who gave His all and died for you… You will your all to Him. Are you like this? Will you really die for Him? Will you really live for Him?

The Secret To Why We Suffer (What I Learned When I Was Beaten To A Bloody Pulp)

I have suffered a little in my life. From before I was even born, when my mother tried to abort me through taking a bunch of pain pills and then when I was born with multiple birth defects and then in my childhood, growing up in very abusive and dysfunctional family situations and even as an adult in many ways…but I can’t say that my suffering has been so great that I’ve become an expert on the subject. We all suffer greatly in some way, even those born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

But grasping why we suffer and the great sufferings of humanity is always an intriguing subject especially in light of the fact that there is a God of love who is behind all of creation and sometimes it’s hard to marry those two ideas. Bu something happened to me that forced me to confront God on the subject and I want to share it with you briefly.

Some years ago, I was working as a missionary with a ministry down in Houston Texas that had a home for drug addicts and homosexuals who had contracted the HIV virus and expressed a desire to change their lifestyles to serve God. The ministry had been given a multimillion-dollar home that happened to be in a neighborhood that had declined rapidly into poverty and decadence. The home was very nice and accommodating and really was a wonderful fit for the ministry.

However, it was smack dab in the center of this drug and gang infested neighborhood. And I have always loved the quote by Charles Thomas Studd, “Some wish to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell; I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell.” So I came on board this ministry because I saw that it truly was a rescue shop within a yard of hell.

I lived there at the home ministering to these sad, totally mixed up and broken men who desperately needed Jesus. Some of them where spiritually attuned to this fact and others were just using the ministry as a place to crash between their sin filled partying and riotous living. I was really there just to be a light to show them the love of Jesus.

I was much younger and much more naïve (which is a nice diplomatic term for stupid), naïve in my understanding of my own faith in the Lord, the world, the devil and the principles of spiritual light versus spiritual darkness. So I had this false concept in my understanding that since I was in ministry, working for God and trying to be a light to the darkness that I had an invincible shield around me. I presumed that I had two giant guardian angels at my right and my left at all times. God was my body guard and being a King’s kid, I could walk fearlessly and boldly about this very dangerous neighborhood with no problem.

Well, to make a long story shorter, I was mugged one night by two young men, pistol whipped until they fractured my skull and left me in a bloody pulp out in the middle of the street. I think they had intended to kill me but a few cars had gone by and one lady actually rolled down her window and reasoned with them to leave me alone.

Two many witnesses had made them stop, I think. Or it could be that the Holy Spirit convicted any conscience they had, because as they were beating me, I remember telling them over and over “Please don’t do this, Jesus loves you.” At any rate, I started to blackout and only vaguely remember bits of pieces of wandering the street and knocking on someone’s house door covered in my blood, asking for help. I then vaguely recall paramedics tearing off my pants and shirt and putting me in an ambulance.

There is a lot more to this story and much more incredible testimony to this test that I won’t go into since it kind of deviates from my message here. But I did learn a very valuable spiritual lesson from this ordeal…. A secret to why we suffer. I am not so proud to assume I have a complete revelation but I would like to share with you what I do know.

When I came back to the ministry home from the hospital, for quite a few days during my physical healing, I had an intense spiritual battle going on in my soul. I basically became very depressed and disillusioned in my faith in the Lord. I couldn’t understand why God had put a giant hole in my invincible bubble and why my guardian angels seemed to be away on vacation while I was beaten to a bloody pulp.

Yes, I admit, I did all the things many of us do when we go through trials and tribulations, I stuck my fist in the air and raged against Heaven, cursed and told God he wasn’t fair and just and a good father. I am ashamed of it now, but I was pretty ticked off that I was seemingly so neglected by the Sovereign Lord God Almighty… especially since I was one of His “special children”, you know, one of those special children who God the Father doesn’t ever let bad things happen to them.

I was doing God’s will, I thought. I mean, isn’t there some scripture somewhere in the Bible that plainly says that if you’re in the will of God, no bad or traumatic thing will ever happen to you?

I searched long and hard for those scriptures but even to this day I have yet to find one. But even if it’s not in Bible, isn’t there some unseen spiritual law that clearly says that if you’re a child of God, and doing some real, one on one intense ministry stuff that God’s protection is guaranteed… that no evil will befall us who are most pious and devoted to the Kingdom of God?

So I was confused and disillusioned until I finally simmered down and could hear God’s voice above the clamor of my religious pride and self centered piety. And the conversation between God and I went something like this-

“God, I can’t abandon my faith altogether because I know your real through all the experiences of you in my life… besides the butterfly tells me so and the rest of the totally genius and cleverly designed creation screaming at the top of it’s lungs of your existence but I am depressed and disillusioned right now about my faith, about you and about doing ministry. I don’t know where I am, Lord?”
And God said, “I know my son, you are exactly where I want you to be, though.

“So you want me to be disillusioned and down and out like this?
“Yes, my son I do. Many find jewels of precious truth and the secrets of my Kingdom through their disillusionments. And you will to.”
“Okay… So Father, what might I learn from this course “Suffering 101”?

Well Heath, what does My Word say about suffering in this present time?
Well, it’s not worth comparing to the glory that will one day be revealed, I guess.
And what else?
Um, well it’s supposed to be a light, momentary affliction… but Lord being beaten and pistol whipped didn’t feel too light to me.

Son, you can’t see the forest because of the giant trees just in front you… you can’t see the splendor of the panoramic view of my perfect will and divine plan looking through the pinhole of a finite, mortal life. Your vision is limited to what’s in your face right now. And you reason and react like any man who can’t see beyond the here and now. But I behold eternity… And as my child, I want you to begin thinking long term… like as in forever. I want you to have always before you an eternal perspective.

Yes, Lord I know I can’t see even one tenth of one degree in the circumference of the 360 degrees of your eternal view… but Lord why did you abandon me? Why didn’t my guardian angels kick some butt? Did I really have to go through all that to learn something?

Well Heath, you are pretty thick headed. And besides you only gave me a token insincere thanks that you weren’t killed in that ordeal. If I had abandoned you, you’d be talking to me right now before the Great White Throne Of My Judgment Seat. And by the way, your angels did kick butt and that’s why you’re still alive. And yes, just as you can’t truly learn how to swim on dry land or even by reading an illustrated swimming for Dummies book, you can’t learn some of the deep eternal truths of my Kingdom without some real experiences to get you there, Heath.

Have you not prayed to me many times, God give me revelation and deep understanding of your Kingdom? Do you think that you can just coast along on a flowery path of roses, of comfort and convenience to enter into my Kingdom? When my Word says clearly that it is through much tribulation that my children enter the Kingdom of God.

And then I hung my head in shame and told God- Oh. Okay, I’m sorry Father. Even now, I’m starting to see the forest. I shouldn’t have charged you with neglect and abandonment. That’s just the spoiled kid inside of me. I know you love me and this mugging/beating didn’t take you by surprise. If anything I probably deserve what I got.

And God interrupted by pretentious humility and said, No Heath, you didn’t deserve what you got…. You deserved a lot, lot more… but fortunately my Son stepped in and took your punishment by hanging on a cross for you. And the suffering you received through this ordeal was not your suffering but it was my Son’s, you just happened to be the one they took it out on. But you should understand that to live for Christ is to fellowship in His sufferings… that the true Christian experience is not a nice neat little package of going to church on Sundays and some token religious exercises you do to feel good about yourself.

My Word says, “Yea all who desire to live a godly life shall suffer…”

This is what I meant when I said take up your cross and follow me. Your cross is more than a cliché or religious metaphor… it is a life surrendered to dying… to dying daily on the cross where all self righteousness, self centeredness, self worth, self indulgences, self importance, self esteem is crucified so that my Spirit, my resurrected life can shine through you.

The truth is Heath, how can I use you to show the world my kingdom if you react like worldly people do who have no faith, when trials and tribulations, and offenses come? You act as if you are more special or more privileged than the rest of humanity who suffer in the same like manner. Your ordeal is just one common to all mankind. Being a believer, being My child does not exempt you from this life’s ordeals. Christians get flat tires, their houses burn down. Their loved ones die, sometimes even in horrific manner. Anything and everything you can think of, may befall one of My children… in this world… in this life. It rains on the just and the unjust.

It also floods and destroys on the just and unjust. However, the just can many times pray away the evil… and miracles can happen… but not always. Sometimes, no matter what, if it is your time to go, there is no way to circumvent it. But as My child, if you are looking past the here and now, with an eternal perspective, death, no matter how it comes, is no grim reaper but a glad angel to whisk you to your blessed eternal habitations with me, your Lord and Savior. Do you really believe in me, a just and holy God who is pure love?

Do you not think that I will make every wrong, right, every injustice, I will bring justice. Every moment of suffering in your temporal life, no matter how morbid, horrifying, or painful, it might be, will I not apply a beautiful healing on that day that will leave you completely cured without a single scar to remember your trauma and suffering?

Yes, the only scars that will remain in the everlasting kingdom are the scars upon the lamb of God that took away the sins of the world. I will dry your tears and there will be no more sorrow or death, only my beautiful children will be filled with innocence and laughter for all of eternity. I promised you this and I will fulfill my Word.

Yet you doubt me in your trial, in your tribulation. And even many unbelievers and sinners are not so presumptuous to blame me for when they suffer. But you shake your fist and rage against all Heaven because deep down, you truly believe you’re a better person who doesn’t deserve to experience the human conditions that is common to man in this fallen world.

You think you’re innocent… but no is truly innocent. Only My son was innocent. But you think that because you are My child that common calamities should never ever befall you… and when they do… you practically want to give up your faith in me…Heath, you sound more like a “fair weather friend” rather than one of my true friends. If you’re going to follow me, follow me to the cross and not to some glamorous unrealistic Christian life, free from pain and sorrow. Because in this world, you will suffer tribulation, persecution and evil men and demons will plot to take your life… but be of good cheer… look past the here and now….

Look upon eternity… for I have overcome the world! Whatever happens to you in this life, be it small or great, be it trivial or traumatic, be it suffering or even sudden horrific death, settle it now in your heart that I am on your side and everything that happens to you will ultimately fit within my plan to give you an eternal future and hope.

Well, after being sliced and diced and fried up as a fritter by the spirit of God, it was hard for to me to open mouth… believe it or not… and the only thing left in me was the question that burns in so many of us, I said, Well Lord, when evil befalls us like in my situation, or when some Christian dies in a horrific manner, or even an unbeliever, is it always your will or something you planned as the Sovereign Lord God Almighty?

And the Lord I believe spoke this, “No. It hasn’t been my will since the fall Adam and Eve that my children should suffer, that mankind should experience the evils of this fallen world. It’s not my will that men should murder or that accidents should maim. My will is for a perfect world, a world with no pain, no sorrow, no evil, no sin.

But all of mankind’s sorrows and sufferings, your own, are due to the choices you make either directly by sin and rebellion against my ways and the consequences thereof, or by the curse of sin itself, from the fall of Adam to the gradual disintegration of the elements. Most suffering comes by wrong choices from a fallen humanity and the rest is due to a fallen, cursed world in decay. Both are the consequences of sin though- it’s the judgment of love against unloving choices.

Even my children who truly love me, no matter how holy or disciplined in my ways will never know complete perfection in their flesh, in this world. They are still subject to the elements of this world, to the indiscretions of a fallen nature. They may be 99 percent of the time walking in my Spirit but in a brief moment of weakness… that 1 percent moment, they turn to the beggarly elements and do a fleshly thing… perhaps as silly as road rage in traffic, the stress of the day, they lose patience and swerve into a lane that ultimately takes their lives or the life of someone else. Could I have prevented that?

Many times I do intervene with a miracle. But sometimes not. Did I plan it? Did I want it? Was that a judgment on them? A consequence of choice? Yes, perhaps. But No, as a loving Father, the God who is love, I never desired men to suffer, ever. The first paradise, the Garden of Eden revealed that… but free will and free choice is part of my character, my image which man was created in the likeness of. And it is not my desire to have robots that choose love because they were made to choose it. Love by it’s very nature, is given and received as a choice not out of manipulation and control but out of an expression of free will.

Ultimately through suffering, mankind redeemed is going to learn that the way of love is the only way to exist. It is my kingdom. My son was the ultimate example of love. No man can enter my kingdom without learning this way of love… It is the only way that mankind can exist in eternity. That is why all suffering is temporal and I make use of it as teacher, as a trainer to men’s hearts and souls… to bring the greatest revelation to the soul and that will eventually make all of redeemed humanity both one with the Father, and one with the Son… All the laws and the prophets can be summed up in the choice to love.

As a loving Father, I am committed to this perfection, to this paradise to come and those who ultimately choose the way of love, a repentance from unloving and sinful choices will reign with me in my kingdom of love and light.

Even with this revelation from the Lord, as a child of God, living in a world full of temptation, trial and tribulation, making a choice to love others as God would have us love them and be a witness of His love is a sacrifice of self, and ironically a suffering of our own soul. To crucify our self love is the beginning of loving others as Jesus loves us. Because human nature without God’s love is to be selfish. It is the love of self that wants to be the center of attention, that wants to gratify it’s fleshly desires even if it hurts or debases another human being or God.

So most of the world and even within the so called Christian mainstream is truly focused only on self love, self pleasure, self comfort, self convenience and gratifying the desires of the temporal flesh in the here and now… with no eternal perspective. Look around you, how many people truly walk in God’s love? Not many. Most of us like to talk about ourselves and crave others to focus on us… or if we’re professing Christians, we might spiritually manipulate people into thinking about how great a person that we are, what a fine Christian, what a great spiritual leader or pastor, etc.

Many people, including pastors and mega church leaders in Christianity do not actually walk in love for Jesus and others… it is clearly seen. You see that their faces and names are plastered on billboards, on television screens and gobs of so called “Christian marketing material” that clearly show that they are really not trying to remain a humble servant dedicated to lifting up Jesus alone but more wanting the praise of men or worse, the money of men.

Self-love has deceived their religious souls and they really think they are the hottest thing since John the Baptist. Full of religiosity and spiritual ego, they live in sprawling mansions, drive expensive cars, have leer jets to take them to their next spiritual conference to milk the naïve and gullible church folks out of their tithes and offerings. And all the while, they truly believe they represent, this meek, humble, non-materialistic Lord Jesus of the Bible.

Self-love is man’s greatest downfall. Most of the self help, self esteem and self love books and teachings on the market if thrown into the ocean would do all the church and mankind a huge favor. The problem isn’t that we need to focus more on ourselves… no, that is the problem from the beginning of the fall of Adam. This is the problem with this last day generation of a complete narcissistic society and culture. As the scripture says, “In the last days, perilous times will come and men will be lovers of themselves…” No time in history has self love and sociopathic narcissism been so rampant and problematic.

Unbelievable murder and mayhem and debauchery and decadence fills the news these days. It’s unheard of. Most everyone is living in their own little comfort zone and pleasure bubble and yet the world is more full of pain and suffering than ever before. Only a handful of humble people, churches and ministries are actually making a difference in their little communities.

The world is not only going to hell in a hand basket but spiraling in free fall towards the flames. Suffering and sorrow in this world is not to be blamed therefore on the God of love but on the godless love of self. If we all would truly begin to love as Christ loved us, we would begin to find the joy and lasting happiness and peace we all so desire. The reason why the happiest people in the world are the most generous and kind, who have developed a habit of esteeming others better than themselves and are constantly sacrificing their own needs to meet the needs of others is because they are knowingly or unknowingly tapping into the very core of God’s divine nature and His expressed image.

We were created to be like God in the image of His likeness so when we fulfill the law of selfless love, we actually are rewarded with a divine joy that is directly connected to God’s character. I have met the poorest people who were very rich and I have met the richest people who were very poor. There are countless folks in third world countries who walk barefooted and sleep on a dirt floor but to meet them you would think they were kings living in castles.

Their faces glow with an unworldly joy and they have not a materialistic bone in their body. Should you try to give them something of worth, they do not greedily grasp it as their own with a feeling of “this belongs to me” but they will turn around and share it with everyone until the thing is dispersed and consumed by all in need. Amazing selfless love!

I have been challenged and convicted many times by people of this caliber that I have personally come to the conclusion that to be born in America, with our emphasis on materialism and wealth to bring us happiness, is not as blessed as we think it is. Like the Word teaches in the book of Revelation, “we are rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing… but truly we are poor, blind, wretched and naked.”

I share about the love of self versus selfless love because this is key, this is the secret to understanding why we suffer, why suffering and sorrow is so common to our human condition, why war, murder, mayhem, crime, turmoil and distress of nations is what we read in the headlines everyday. God speaks to his people and says that it is through God’s love alone, this selfless love that we begin to break the cycle of sin and evil around us.

When we choose to forgive and to have mercy rather to despise and take revenge upon someone, we choose to look at people around us not with the intent to manipulate them for our own agendas and selfish motives, to use people to get what we want, but we look at every opportunity to try to help people in their need and be an example that they too can live with a heart of selfless love. We choose to respect all men and women, boys and girls with decency and true spirituality rather than with debasement, degrading them, with sensuality and the lust of the flesh. When we can dialog with one another without a spirit of pride and self importance, self religiosity.

We can be humble, patient and kind. These are the things which bring healing rather than hurt, good pleasure rather than pain, sweet song rather than suffering.

So why do we suffer? It is because of our own sins against God’s spiritual laws that we suffer through the consequences of such disobedience and rebellion. We cannot get around the consequences of our sins… we will reap what we sow… this is one of God’s main spiritual laws fixed in eternity.

Like Billy Graham used to say, We can’t sow our wild oats and then pray to God for a crop failure… God will allow us to suffer the sting and evil of our sins and wrong choices so that we might learn the way of righteousness, the way of selfless love. It’s only then can we enter the Kingdom of God… and the good news is, we don’t have to wait until we die to enter His kingdom… we can be His kingdom on earth… we can bring His kingdom to others.

We can stop the vicious cycle of evil and suffering. This is why Jesus wants to be the Lord and Saviour of our lives… This is why He commands us to repent and change our ways.

So there you have it, in a nutshell. And I must confess that it’s harder to walk out selfless love on a daily basis than to explain it academically to you as I have now. I fail miserably many times as my self, my ego, my flesh is that fly in the ointment. But it is my desire to live like my Lord. It is my greatest desire to one day be completely free of the love of self and to walk as Jesus walked.

I think this is the litmus test to those who have been born again by the Spirit of God. It is not that our natures have completely transformed into perfect selfless characters in this world… I truly wish that were possible…but we do press on to that goal, to be holy, to be pure of evil, to love selflessly, to forgive readily… The Bible says “Those who have this hope of Christ in them purifies themselves even as He is pure.”

We may not be perfect but we are striving with all our hearts to walk this walk of faith and holiness that was once delivered up to the saints. And if we sin, if we fail, we do not wallow in the sewers of self pity and self justification for our sins, we immediately repent, get back up, beg for God’s mercy and once again strive to enter the kingdom of God, to be the sanctified vessels of honor, fit for the Master’s use.

It is those who wallow in their sins and even splash around in amusement of them, that I have a very hard time believing they have ever been touched by God’s love or experienced the true joys of His holy kingdom. I think they are deceiving themselves.

One quick story that illustrates entering into the kingdom of God by choosing to love… It actually had to do with precious my mother who was still alive when I was beaten to a bloody pulp. After a few weeks of God healing me both physically and spiritually from the ordeal, I went to see my mother. And she was somewhat of a new Christian then and even before she was a Christian she was a very loving and forgiving person.

She actually was one of the best examples I knew, of someone who forgives quickly and forgave quite thoroughly. She forgave a lot of great injustices in her life that most people would be embittered about to their very grave. But not mama, she was a forgiver. Except when I visited her after being beat up. She told me, almost in tears “Heathy, I can’t forgive those boys for doing that to you. I just can’t!” She was my mama and I was her baby boy.

I think I chuckled at her and told her “Mama, you have to forgive them… I already have… and we must never allow a root of bitterness to spring up in us because the world is always going to be there to try to put a splinter between us and God and we can’t allow it. God will take of those boys but we must pray for mercy.” My mama just shook her head no and we got on to some other subject. Every so often, during the next few years, she would remind me that she hadn’t forgiven those boys. And I would encourage her to let it go and let God in. Then one day she called me on the phone and she was crying.

I said “What’s wrong mama?” And she said, “Today, I forgave those boys… I forgave them Heathy from my heart and I pray for them to be saved!” I rejoiced with her for that breakthrough. She had learned the law of love and in that moment she again entered the kingdom of God. What was a stumbling block to her faith became a stepping stone to victory. The suffering that could have made her a bitter person, through Christ made her a better person.

So in conclusion, I want to challenge all of us, to not try to answer as a chalk board answer, or academically, the question If God is good, why is there suffering in this world? But to instead, answer that question by living according to the God of love and His holy Word, by being the answer to that question, to live without the love of self… to do as Jesus called all His true disciples to do in Matthew chapter 16 verse 24 “If any man wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

The way of Christ is the way of the cross… it’s the way of death to self and crucifixion of self love so that we can be resurrected to a new life of God’s love and holiness. May this truth go deep into the inward parts of all who hear what the Spirit of God is speaking. The secret to why we suffer is that God, our Father in His wisdom and love, always will choose the best path to bring us to a revelation of why love is the only choice we should always make… He uses our sins and the consequences of them to discipline us until the light bulb finally turns on in our awareness… that if we obey just this single law of love then we do not need to be governed by or forced to obey any other law in the universe. We will have arrived. This is the revelation and the truth that God so desire men to truly comprehend and live by.

The Emperor’s New Clothes

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8

I want to talk to you about the emperor’s new clothes… you know the story… the story of a scoundrel and a scammer who convinced the emperor to wear invisible clothing… to parade himself among his subjects as if he was wearing the finest, most fashionable garments of royalty…yet in fact, he was wearing nothing at all. Talk about a major wardrobe malfunction and an epic fail, as his subjects saw their king totally exposed in his birthday suit… and they giggled, whispered and wondered  among themselves…. “Hey, neighbor, are you seeing what I’m seeing? The king is completely and utterly butt naked… ahhh…what’s up with that?”

This of course I believe is a wonderful parable that none of us can ever figure out without a divine revelation from God.

You see, there is a large majority of deceived individuals who by token admission will claim to be a Christian but who are no more Christian than the devil himself. According to the Word of God, you can not be a true Christian without genuine sorrow and repentance from sin. Jesus said, “I tell you, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3 To repent of sin is to turn from it…  There are many who claim to have repented from their sin but yet still live in their sin. They somehow think that their shallow feelings of regret or remorse and perhaps some token verbal confession of sin is true repentance. But the scriptures clearly teach that true repentance is more than feelings of regret, shame or guilt, that it is more than just saying “I’m sorry” or making a vocalized confession of sin. “He that hides or covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

True repentance has always been defined as a forsaking of sin, to actually and literally stop your sinning! This isn’t preached much in the churches today for fear that sinners might get offended that they actually feel the guilt, and the shame of their sin… and the world is full of super sensitive sinners now who will militantly justify their wickedness and God forbid that you plead with them to give up their self destructive, unhealthy, unnatural, ungodly, immoral, perverted lifestyles… Today they will protest you as a narrow minded religious bigot who is spreading prejudice, intolerance and religious hate speech. And the mealy mouth preachers who have no fear of God but only fear man, they cower and appease to this wicked generation with a kinder, gentler message of the gospel… to cater not to a “seeker sensitive” crowd but to a “sin loving sensitive” crowd. Because anyone who is truly seeking God, a true seeker will eagerly embrace the message of true repentance and true deliverance from their destructive and miserable sins… and the consequences thereof.

But to get back to the analogy of the emperor’s new clothes is that there are plenty of scoundrel preachers along with whispering demons who will tell you, you being the emperor, that you don’t need to really repent of your sins to be forgiven and go to Heaven… all you need to do is make an empty ritual confession of your sins… hang your head and say you’re sorry every so often… but you don’t need to really give up your drunkenness and debauchery, your love of money, your materialistic and worldy heart, your lust, your greed, your adultery, your sexual perversions, your wicked imaginations, your bitterness and anger, your unforgiveness, your gluttony and over indulgence, your love for sensual pleasures… your self centeredness, ego and pride…

No that’s an old and harsh religion full of legalistic do’s and don’ts… you can’t really turn from wickedness, from a wicked heart and thought life… it’s your nature and it’s in your DNA to love sin… so forget about living some sort of holy, separated, sanctified life… that’s just a bunch of old religionists trying to get you to follow rules and religious regulations. Jesus loves and accepts you the way you are… they say… all you need to do is just have an intellectual belief in Jesus, a token confession of faith… no real need to repent, to live holy and pure… that’s just trying to work your way to heaven… it’s your self effort and salvation by works… Jesus paid the price and he did the works so now all you have to do is wear His symbolic invisible robe of righteousness… the emperor’s new clothes… just put on this invisible symbolic white garment of holiness… cause it’s not your holiness, it’s His… so bask in the light of His grace that allows you to go on sinning and living an unholy and ungodly, undisciplined fleshly, sin-filled lifestyle… and when you stand before God at Judgment day, you can tell God how much you love Him because He winked at your unrepentant heart… even though the Word says God no longer winks at your sin but commands you to repent…  and God allowed you to constantly have impure thoughts and imaginations, and unholy motives, even though His Word says to be holy and keep your mind pure from evil….

But He loved you anyways while you disregarded His commandments to obey Him and you rebelled against the Word of God time after time… even though you’ve read where Jesus said if you really love me you would keep my commandments… but it’s okay… it’ all under His invisible symbolic blood atonement… you are clothed with filthy rags, having never truly repented or lived a single day holy… you made popcorn confessions of your sins everyday and never once thought to turn from your evil… but’s its okay… you have an invisible robe of righteousness on… oh emperor of your new clothes…

This is the ultimate deception of this age…

I am afraid many so called “converts of the kingdom” are going to have a very rude awakening when they realize that they are naked,  that they were only “false converts of the kingdom”. When they stand before Jesus, the lion of Judah, the holy of holies, the great I Am, the All consuming Fire of His presence…. And they stand completely and utterly naked and wretched and wicked. And Jesus will say to them, Where is the reward of my suffering? Where is the return on my sacrifice? Why was my blood not powerful enough to truly atone you? How can I be your deliverer, your redeemer and your savior from sin, if you never have been truly delivered, redeemed and saved from your sin? Where is your robe of righteousness, your white garment of holiness that I clothe my servants with? My Holy spirit is given to those who’ve been truly saved… and by my Holy spirit I make men holy… but you are filthy, sinful, carnal and rebellious.

Who are you? I don’t believe I know you. You’re not one of mine for my sheep hear my voice and they follow me… my sheep loved me in truth and keep my commandments, my sheep repent of their sins, my sheep obey my commandment to be holy, to purify their hearts and minds, to live godly and unspotted from the world. But who are you? To come and parade about as if you are worthy to stand in my presence because some preacher told you that all you needed to do was say a little token prayer to receive my grace and mercy? Why didn’t you instead believe my Word? Did you really think that my grace gave you a license to practice sin, that on this day you stand before me with some invisible symbolic grace covering which would shield you from my wrath against all sin?

But my Word says, “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, Teaching us to denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” Titus 2:11-12 No, the true power of grace is to make men holy in a real and life transforming way, not to make them artificially justified in unrepentant sin. Those who’ve been touch by my grace are clearly identifiable by my work of sanctification in their lives.  It doesn’t mean your perfect but it does mean you’re being perfected… It doesn’t mean you’ve completely arrived but it does mean you’re walking the highway of holiness.

A true godly conversion is always down this pathway of grace and holiness.

Many people in the church are like this emperor and his new clothes with this shallow and false teaching of a cheap grace, a repentance without turning from sin, and a holiness that is merely figurative or symbolic. They are but phantom garments ready to be exposed as fraudulent interpretations of the Holy Word of God. And those sin loving converts who are deceived by this false teaching will be shocked speechless to learn that they never truly loved the Lord nor were they ever clothed in the garments of true holiness.

Jesus made a very serious proclamation, eerily similar to the story of the emperor’s new clothes when He ended one of his parables about the wedding feast, when He comes back for his Holy Bride, which is defined as the true church without spot or wrinkle… when he said in Matthew 22:11-14 “And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he said to him, Friend, how came you in here not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.” It’s not enough to be called a Christian… are you following in the footsteps of Christ? Are you a chosen generation, a holy priesthood as the scripture say?

Will you be speechless on that day?

I want to end this message by pleading with you not to disregard it as a frivolous personal interpretation of the Bible but study out the scriptures diligently to see if these things be so… don’t just buy into the popular warm and fuzzy gospel that puts no demands on your soul to truly repent of your sin, your self-centeredness and  pride. God commands all men to repent and to flee the wrath to come which scriptures says is on all the sons of disobedience who practice unrighteousness.

The word of God is full of warnings and admonitions to live differently than the common sinner… to be holy as God is holy. These commandments are not optional. And the only way we can keep His commandments and to be holy is to allow His Holy Spirit to work this work in us. The work of the Holy Spirit within the believer is not just so we can speak in tongues, or get holy goosebumps when we fall backwards when a visiting preacher blows on us. The work of the Holy Spirit is to make men holy and keep them holy while living in this wicked, fallen world. And this holiness has very little to do with long hair, long dresses and long faces… but it has everything to do with loving people, loving the brethren and loving the lost and wayward.

Holiness has little to do with being some sort of perfect, pious, standoffish individual… but has everything to do with being patient, being kind, being merciful and forgiving, being compassionate and self sacrificing to help others in their need…

This gives more glory to God then all the miracles and outward manifestations of the glamorous modern church and all her projects and programs today.

In closing, listen to this scripture and tell me, whether holiness is merely symbolic as some “magical atonement or grace that will get us into the Kingdom or are we being admonished to literally and actually give up our wicked ways and to express the life of Christ.  “For this you know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God on the children of disobedience. Be not you therefore partakers with them.” Ephesians 5:5-7

Be not like the foolish emperor who was deceived into thinking that he was clothed in the proper garments… when actually he was naked and wretched. On judgment day, we need to be clothed in true humility and true Godliness not in shame and disgrace from living a fleshly, worldly, sin loving life.

Now, one last scripture to show us what we need to be truly clothed with…

“…Understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk or behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension, bitterness and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” Romans 13:11-14

Are you being clothed in true holiness or are you merely being deceived into thinking that you will stand worthy before the holy God who sees all in filthy garments of carnality and sin. Will you be speechless at the wedding feast?

“Bobblehead Jesus” Worship: Symbolism Over Substance

jesusbobbleheadMuch of America’s modern, mainstream, so called “Christianity” could be thrown into the ocean and sunk to the bottom of the sea and the world would be better off. Don’t get mad at me just yet. Here me out. There seems to be this cancerous “footloose-and-fancy-free” and “if-it-feels-good-do-it-in-the-name-of-Jesus” gospel that is predominant across the land. There are so many souls being sucked into this sewer of “bad Christianity”.

Why? Because it’s a hollow, superficial and cheap imitation “Christianity” that requires no repentance from sin, no obedience to the faith, no lifestyle of holiness, no discipline or temperance and no Holy Spirit led living. The Bible states that this type of “Christianity” would be prevalent in the last days- “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof”. 2 Timothy 3:5 -Or you could easily say it this way- “Having a symbolism but lacking the substance thereof”.

I see and hear so much now being done “in the name of Christ” that makes me sick with burden. So called “Christians” living sin infested lives, all the while glorying in their supposed “grace” and “liberty in Christ”.

Hey, we’re all just a bunch of sinners saved by grace, right? Wrong! Quit listening to watered-down ear ticklers of this age and read your Bible, oh precious soul!
A Christian is not a practicing sinner… we’re practicing Christ followers. Yes, we’ve been saved by grace and according to Titus, this grace “teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts”. But the scriptures truly bear out that after our conversion, we are no longer to be referred to as sinners…. but as saints, that is, called out ones, holy ones! We’ve been delivered and redeemed from our sins, remember? Or was that just symbolic?

This bad Christianity going around prefers symbolism over substance. So many “Christians” prefer a symbolic salvation that puts their name on Heaven’s roll but their natures are still unregenerated and bound by sin. Whatever happened to the literal transforming power of the Cross that turns a deadbeat into a hard worker, a thief into an honest man, a drunk or drug addict into a sober, responsible person? Whatever happened to “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have past away, behold all things become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Symbolism over substance, lip service over life service, name tag over nature change, taco shell over hamburger meat… however you look at it, it all comes down to a bad Christianity. It is void of true sincerity and godly living. The sweet fragrance of a holy life devoted to a living Christ is replaced by the the stench of dead formalism and hypocritical churchgoing. Hypocrisy itself can be defined as symbolism over substance.

The real substance of the gospel is explained away by liberal theologians and false teachers who will stand in judgement for their “smooth sayings” and damnable heresies. They may not blatantly deny but they subtly imply any real or substantial power in the Cross. But folks, did you know tht Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was actually and literally to destroy the works of sin in your life? Read the whole chapter of 1 John chapter 3. “His name shall be called Jesus for He will save his people FROM their sins”– not IN their sins! Matthew 1:21 Do you really think that God would send His son Jesus to die such a painful death for just symbolism?

Many people want to be forgiven of their sin but not truly delivered from their sin! By the evidence of modern “Christianity” I believe this is true. Many people make shallow prayers to God asking for forgiveness but as far as a real commitment to forsake their sin forever…well, hey… nobody’s perfect!

Deep in the heart, many want relief from the burden of a guilty conscience but not released from the strongholds of sin itself. In essence, they are telling God, “Jesus, I want my guilty conscience numbed but I want to continue practicing sin”. Be careful, you might just get what you pray for and end up with a “seared conscience” practicing sin with no feelings of regret or remorse. I have seen this happen with some so called “Christians”who were totally backslidden and didn’t even know it because of this deception. I would like to brand this thought in you with this illustration- What if a certain man was to find out he had a painful cancer that the doctor said must be excised or he would die… But instead the man asked the doctor to just numb the area where the pain was and leave the cancer there… to spread. You would surely call this man foolish.

I submit to you that much in the same way there are people who think that this is what “salvation” means. They want to be forgiven so they won’t feel condemned or ashamed but they also want to keep petting their pet sins. but no sin is a pet for long- it will turn on you in the end. These are foolish religious people who are numbing their consciences with cheap confessions of “God, I’m sorry” thinking that God is forgiving them without sincere repentance or forsaking of the sin.
However, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

John the baptist said it well, “Bring forth fruit that shows that you have truly repented”. Matthew 3:8 “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, ‘These people draw near to me with their mouths and honor me with their lips (symbolism) but their hearts (substance) are far from me” Matthew 15:8 But God says, “He who covers his sins (symbolism) will not prosper but whoever confesses and forsakes his sin (substance) will have mercy.”. Proverbs 28:3

I believe this modern Christianity or “gospel” will prove to damn more souls to Hell than any other deception on the face of the earth. What a hellish but brilliant idea those devils have come up with- an artificial repentance, an artificial salvation, an artificial faith and an artificial security! Symbolism all the way to Hell!

Folks, when it is all said and done, and you stand before the Almighty, Holy Holy, Holy God, it’s not what your preacher said that you will be judged by, or even by a dose of bad Christianity that you conformed to, or by the most popular symbolism of the day. It won’t be by how many times you said, “I’m sorry”. You are going to be judged by the substance of your life. By your actions, attitudes, desires, motives, thoughts and… yes, by your WORKS! “But my preacher says….”. What does the Bible say? Are you going to put your faith in God’s Word or in men who can and often are be mistaken?

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” Revelation 20:12-13
If that’s not enough, how about this one- “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
Or how about this one- “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” 1Corinthians 6:9-10 Do these scriptures honestly speak of symbolism to you?

You may say, “This guy doesn’t have a good understanding of God’s grace”. You may even call me a “legalist.” However, I know God’s grace is an awesome substance. It isn’t a symbolic blindfold around God’s eyes “so as not to see His children sinning” as some men falsely teach. God’s grace is substance for our lives that empowers us to live holy and pure. “The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, that we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age.” Titus 2:11-12

Am I saying that a Christian can never fall into sin? No! But I am saying that a Christian can choose to overcome sin. God’s mercy is available if we should stumble. But stumbling shouldn’t be our normal way of life. If we are stumbling around in sin constantly then it is a good indication that we are still unrepentant, unconverted, in love with this world. We need to have a deeper work of true repentance performed in our hearts. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states that God will faithfully provide “a way of escape” from every temptation that confronts us.

What if we started believing God’s Word and truly chose every time this “way of escape”? What victorious living we would have! What joy and peace would fill our souls! “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in it’s lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have any dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:14 Praise God for such a liberating message of substance! Practical and substantive meat that we should not only chew on but heartily gulp down!

Some people actually see this type of message on living holy and free from sin as an “evil legalistic doctrine” or at best unattainable. I have to wonder if these people have been so conditioned by liberal theology that the truth has become a stumbling block to them. -That they would actually see living victoriously above sin as erroneous and “an evil teaching”. I guess they assume it brings people into bondage and “legalism”. When in truth it frees the soul to worship God in holiness without guilt, without a defiled conscience. Folks, when you have confessed and forsaken sin in your life and God has forgiven you- Oh what a feeling! To be clean and pure before the Lord! -Oh what a power! To be anointed and filled with His Holy Spirit and used by the Lord!

We need to get back to real Biblical Christianity. We need to get back to holiness, obedience, discipleship and a real and vital relationship with Jesus. We need to get back to the basics. We need to get back to substance.
We mind’s well worship and serve a plastic, bobblehead Jesus on our living room window sill or car dashboard as it is about as true devotion to Christ as what is promoted in this bad Christianity today. Remember, one of God’s ten commandments was not to worship any graven image of God.

Why? Because God does not want us replacing or substituting symbolism for the true substance. Idols are symbolism. God wants no object or concept taking what is His rightful place! He wants a personal and intimate relationship with us. He want’s to be our Father and we, His children. Bad Christianity is when our churchianity itself replaces the living Christ! Even church, ministry and christian fellowship should not take the place of your relationship with God.

Perhaps you have seen that you have been a symbolic “Christian”, sucked into believing in this artificial or superficial Christianity. Perhaps your tired of playing the hypocrite and you want a true walk with God. Did you know you can have the real thing? Did you know that you can fill your symbolism with substance? Hallelujah!
But it’s going to cost you. You must grieve over and forsake your

sins of hypocrisy and symbolism and commit yourself to the total Lordship of Jesus Christ. You need to devote yourself to the substance of God’s Word and prayer. You need to commit to cultivate a relationship with the Risen Savior. You need to walk in purity and truth, my friend. When you are totally sincere with God, then you will be sincerely saved and transformed by the power of the Cross. Hallelujah! You will have a real purpose for living and a divine destiny with your Creator. You will receive a “peace that passes all understanding”, a “joy unspeakable and full of glory”, a “fear of God that is clean” and so much more, my beloved friend!

So don’t settle for symbolism over substance, form over power, hypocrisy over sincerity, “bobblehead Jesus” worship over a true intimate friendship with the Lord Jesus. Instead, become part of the remnant of true believers in Christ! The few, the humble, the literally redeemed!

Prophet 401: The Scary Dude

Ever feel like the oddball out? Ever been called a “stick in the mud”? Those who are truly called by God to confront a worldly, backslidden church and the evils of this age are usually not pastors of megachurches. Usually they are lonely prophets and watchmen who stand against the myriad of false prophets who preach nice candy coated, fluffy white sermons that appeal to the masses but really do little to bring men to true repentance and faith in God. One day I was happily going along and then God spoke to me and just outright said that many “Christians” will be damned to Hell. I shook my head vigorously and tried to clean my ears because I wasn’t sure I heard Him right, so I repeated His words as a question, Did you just say many “Christians” will go to…. HELL?

And then the holy scriptures spoken by the one and only Lord Jesus replied, “Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Wow! With that scripture, I think we all need to cease from all activity and truly meditate for a good while on it’s grave implications. The scripture is basically saying that just because you call Jesus your Lord and you maintain an outward confession to Christianity, and you may even be a great preacher, have a powerful healing and deliverance ministry, you may be actively participating in good “Christian causes” or even be a missionary… and yet still go to HELL. Why? Because an outward “Christian”confession or merely saying “Jesus is Lord” or “being dedicated to full-time ministry” is not truly an indication that you are a real or true Christian. Remember the scripture Proverbs 21:2. “All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the LORD evaluates the motives of the heart.” Also God says, “I the LORD search the heart and motives, I test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” Jeremiah 17:10

You may actually see two people who do the exact same things in their lives, who go to church, give to the poor, claim Jesus as Lord, who even sacrifice their lives in Christian ministry and in the end one goes to Heaven and one goes to Hell. Why? Because authentic Christianity has little to do with outward appearances or “Christian activity” but everything to do with true motives of the heart!
This is why Paul the beloved Apostle told all of us, “Examine yourselves, whether you are truly in the faith; question your motives and try your ways. Do you really know your inner being, if the Lord Jesus is actually in you, unless you are counterfeits or imposters?” 2 Corinthians 13:5
I believe like the late Leonard Ravenhill used to say, “The church is full of empty people.” The sanctuary is packed with Christian professors but not Christ possessors. If you take Christ out of Christianity then you are left with the religion of Ianity. Ianity is when we are truly void of Jesus (He’s not our first love, our passion, our one true thing, our daily bread) but we profess Christianity for our own self centered ambitions. It could be for prestige, money or for the praise of men. It could just be that we fear death and want to go to heaven… but it is an empty false hope because we do not have the real thing. You might seriously call into question whether you have authentic Christianity if Jesus is pretty much a “church on Sunday” thing… but little more than that during your week.
But you may judge yourself as a “good Christian” because of all the things you do or don’t do.

However, the Bible also says this about the human heart- “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9
The truth is, even WE DON’T KNOW our own hearts! Every man deceives himself and thinks he’s a “good person”. Police detectives have interviewed sadistic serial killers who genuinely thought they were a good person… some of them even thought they were “Christian”! If you think you’re a good person, you too are self deceived. The truth is none of us are “good”… without God and none of us are “Christian” without Christ! We can not be “holy” without the “Holy Spirit” in us. Jesus, knowing the heart of man, said that “no man is good but God alone”. Mark 10:18
We need to pray like King David, a man after God’s own heart, “Search me, O God, and know my heart, my true motives; Test me and know my real thoughts; And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalm 139:23-24

Only God can break through our self delusions about our “goodness” to truly see our utter depravity and wickedness. Only God can give us a revelation to our true hearts and motives. And when the revelation comes, we will see our wickedness in the light of His holiness, our hatred in the light of His love, our great need for salvation in the light of His glorious redemption. This is when the epiphany of the soul happens, the radical new birth, the transformation into a new creation. When we are utterly ashamed, utterly dismayed at our wicked souls, utterly broken and weeping, then we are ready for the hand of God’s mercy to “lead us in the everlasting way”. If you have never been broken, deeply ashamed and weeping over your sins then you have never been truly converted to authentic Christianity. “For true godly sorrow produces true repentance that leads to true salvation without any regret, whereas worldly sorrow is depression and despair which produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10 
Whatever happened to this type of Holy Ghost conviction? When men fell upon their faces in great anguish of soul to truly repent of their sins and be forever changed into a cleansed child of God? Why are preachers so mamby pamby and can not preach with Holy Spirit conviction and fire that consumes the dross of men’s hearts? Why the fluffy motivational sermonettes that coddle men in their sins and self righteous “goodness”? Much of the mainstream church is based on this self righteous way and the “Christians” who maintain their “goodness” and “Christian virtue” to the snubbing of others are truly not apart of the true kingdom of God.

Why did Jesus tell us “that our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees”? Because the truth is, all our good works and “goodness” apart from Christ in our hearts is self righteousness and trying to establish ourselves as “good.” The Pharisee’s righteousness was based on “Ianity” and Christ was not at work in them to do the will of His Father. So the simple truth is, doing greater “Christian” deeds than the Pharisee’s is not what Jesus meant by “exceeding their righteousness”. We must put on Christ’s righteousness which is not based on our goodness but His. True righteousness (simply meaning being right with God) is not based on perfect “Christian” performance or that we are so holy and pure that we never make mistakes or even fall into sin on a bad day. It has to do with Christ’s atonement on the cross and always going back to the fountain of blood that will cleanse our hearts and minds from the evil stains that sometimes fall upon us on this journey. We will always need the Savior and we will always need His blood.

Of course this does not mean that we willfully continue sinning in thought, word and deed because we have assumed that God must forgive us through Jesus. Such thinking is dangerously apostate. Sin is never a light or trivial thing. No true child of God, in love with Jesus would ever brazenly, presumptuously and consistently commit sin like this. After a true conversion and seeing the true love of God, we are broken children who never want to hurt our loving Father, we love our Lord Jesus. And if we fall into sin, it is but a brief moment and we are back on our faces, weeping for cleansing, weeping for permanent change into His beautiful image. If we carelessly sin every day without a deep sense of having a holy purpose and we have no deep conviction or loathing for sinful things, then this is a good indication that our Christian profession is not genuine. As true Christians, we cannot constantly sin willfully and brazenly… it’s just not in the mix of a humble, broken, true child of God who has had a true revelation of God’s holiness and love. The Holy Spirit living in us is what keeps us holy and from sinning all the time.

Today, wicked, depraved, perverted men and women have street parades and go on smut talk shows arrogantly and brazenly promoting their rebellious pride and freedom from God’s ways and laws. They unashamedly practice evil and want all the world to love and worship them for it! Our society, our culture, our nation, our government has totally and unscrupulously embraced the ways of the lawless one. America has become completely corrupt and lawless. As Isaiah prophesied from the head to toe, there is no soundness in the nation. Most of our politicians, judges, lawyers and military have been swept away by the lawless one. There is no shame or embarrassment for practicing depraved and evil behaviors. Even pedophiles and unmentionable perversion is being promoted as tolerable and acceptable now. No instead, depravity and immorality has become trendy and cool. The laws of our nation are rapidly changing to promote this lawlessness and punish and imprison the righteous who hold to time honored, traditional morality and authentic Christian convictions. Yes, we are in the very last days and the lawless one has been let loose upon the earth and is deceiving the whole world. “Knowing his time is short, he has now come down with great wrath against humanity and the saints.” Revelation 12:22
Lawlessness is also found in those “Christians” and the many harlot churches that promote a very different gospel. A gospel that says that God and Christ has now ceased from judging anyone… that God’s grace allows us to freely sin and tolerate evil within ourselves and others. No real repentance or godly sorrow required to be truly saved. No transformation in the new birth, to change and live holy through Jesus’s Lordship. The Bible predicted this would become prevalent- “I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4

The whole world is going the way of the lawless one. Many “Christians” are in for a rude awakening come the day of judgment. They will be exposed as counterfeits, as cowards, fearing men, that walked in lies and not in the truth, as enemies of the true cross of Jesus. They will see that though they profess Jesus as Lord, He was never their Lord. Salvation is not to those who claim Him Lord but to those who make Him Lord.
Judgment is soon coming. Flee the wrath of God to come. If you are a “Christian” who gets your convictions from Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Phil, from Hollywood’s demoralized movie propaganda machine, from the mainstream social engineered news media and the talking heads on CNN, from the endless smut literature of this depraved era, then you are already so deceived and headstrong that this message will probably have no impact.
However, if you begin to read the precious, holy scriptures, God’s Word and beg the Spirit of God to give you mercy to understand it. I guarantee you will begin to see your own utter depravity and wickedness. You will see your compromise and half-heartedness as pure evil. You will see your religion as Ianity. You will see your sin as utterly abominable in the sight of a holy, loving God. You will see how far this nation has fallen. Pray for mercy to be broken… to fall upon the rock and be broken to pieces rather than the rock fall on you and crush you to powder… to somehow breakthrough the stubborn, opinionated lies that your heart is plagued with… yes, no more self deception, you need God and you need His true salvation.

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

Adam, Where Are You?

The Creation Of Adam

The Lord God Almighty, creator of all that is, swooped down to gather a bit of earth. The angels were in total suspense and silent awe as the Lord God was about to finish his days of creation with the greatest of all his works combined. The expanse of the universe, the planets set in their motion, the brilliance of the sun, the moon and the stars, the earth and all the splendor of every living creature, those that swim the oceans, those that fly the skies above and those that trod the earth below, none of them would even come close in comparison with the incredible being that God would forge with his hands and heart that day.

As He shaped the clay to human form and then blew the breath of life into His masterpiece design, the angels were stunned with pure amazement and delight when the creature opened his eyes and the Lord God thundered throughout all of heaven, “This is my beloved son, Adam, the firstborn of the human race, made in my own image, after the likeness of my divine being, a pure sentient life form with higher intelligence, self awareness, a conscience, a free will, and with an imaginative creative ability that I myself possess, only limited to the boundaries of physics and  the scope of his head and hands…This is my son, Adam! He is the pinnacle of my creation and the very reason I have created this great universe and all that is contain therein…”

The angels truly were in great astonishment.

And when they saw Adam and the genuine enthusiasm and love of Father God as He revealed the grand design, a son, a true, living, breathing son of God, the angels roared with applause that sent waves of rumbling joy and praise throughout the heavens. The great Michael and Gabriel who stood as the warrior leaders of the great angelic host of the Lord God were filled with tears of joy to see Adam’s visage.

And from that moment that God revealed his son, all the heavenly host pledged themselves as guardians of all humanity, protector of the Lord God’s creation. They truly cherished all that the Lord God had made. They genuinely loved Adam, a son of the God they faithfully served.

The Garden Of Eden

Now Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden. This was no ordinary garden. This garden was teeming with all life forms and the most beautiful flowering trees and vegetation you could imagine. This was the garden of brilliant color and light, which had no darkness or shadows. Eden was created solely for Adam to flourish in a sweet fellowship and an intimate communion with His Father, the Lord God Almighty. This is where the Most High God of the universe would stoop down, clothed in humble vestige to walk and talk with Adam, his beloved son. This was the garden of paradise, the garden of a beautiful intimacy between God and man. Eden was meant for intimate fellowship with God. So beautiful was this intimacy between God and his created son, so incredibly inspirational that all the angels of God would marvel and desire to behold it’s loveliness. The audience of heaven would hush themselves to peer down at Father God walking and talking with Adam.

The Lord God’s great delight was to stroll among his creation, but far more special, He loved to be with Adam and Eve, his son and daughter, the very apple of his eye, His beautiful children. The Lord God and all of His majestic presence would hover over the garden, like a dotting mother, and simply breath in the delight of His existential creation. He would be enraptured at the sound of innocence and purity, at the love and laughter of Adam and Eve. The Lord God would close his eyes and smile as his children called on His name. And as the Lord God walked through the flowery pathways of Eden, He sparkled with joy when He heard his son and daughter rustling in the brush as they ran with delight to meet their Father in the way.

The angels would be genuinely tickled to see the beauty of Father God with His children. When Father God took his children on a safari of Eden, to show them the wonders of creation, Adam and Eve would ooh and awe in pure delight at every color splashed design of nature and marvel at the grand constellation of stars above. Every day God ‘s heart leapt with pure joy as he looked forward to the time He spent one on one with Adam and Eve in the garden. Father God loved Adam and Eve so incredibly. He loved their simple innocence and purity. He mused at Adam, as he made up names for all the animals, Father God allowing his boy to be part of the creation process. There was such a beautiful relationship between Adam and Eve and God… a Father and His children in a paradise of intimacy. It was so wonderful, so lovely, more beautiful than any created thing.

Everyday a song and a fragrance of love and grace permeated the atmosphere as the God of the universe humbled himself to walk alongside his beloved Adam, in the flowering solitude of Eden. It was truly an epic moment in the genesis of creation, the first communion of God and man, a beautiful bond of heaven and earth. This is what flourished and grew in the garden. This is what made angels cease all activity to gaze in total awe. This was the very purpose of the garden of Eden.

Adam, My Son, where are you?

But then one day, on the saddest day of all of eternity, God came down to the garden as usual with joy in His heart to meet with his son, with his daughter… but Adam was not there, Eve was not there. Father God walked alone that day, shuffling along the garden as he cried out across the floral landscape, “Adam, my son, where are you?” Eve, my daughter, where are you? Adam, why are not here to meet me in the garden? Where have you all gone?”

As God walked along the same path they had taken everyday, He search over the towering trees and flowing streams. The Lord God was bursting with hope that He would hear the rustling of Eden’s brush to find His children running towards Him. He searched up and down the pathways until the cool of the day… but soon Father God would have to conclude that Adam wasn’t coming that day, Eve was not coming. His beloved children were not there … Why? Because Adam and Eve were hiding from their Father. Adam and Eve were ashamed of something. Father God knew His son and daughter must have fallen in the garden… just as previously a chief angel had fallen from heaven.

Now the Lord God is clothed in the beauty of holiness. The angels cry holy, holy, holy because God is so pure and has no evil or unjust way in Him. He is of a singular nature, 100% good.

In Eden, Adam was created in His image. Adam was made with a singular nature as well.  Adam and Eve only knew good. They had no knowledge of evil. They were innocent of all evil.But in the garden, there was placed a tree that was forbidden for them to eat. It was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, a tree that offered mankind to know or experience evil just as they already knew and experienced good.

It was a test of obedience which made paradise vulnerable to the possibility of a duality of existence. If plucked from and eaten, the fruit of this tree would introduce Adam to the “great void”, that is, the void of God’s presence and goodness. You see, evil is only the void of God’s goodness, in very much the same way that darkness is really only the void of light. God’s goodness is based on His holy and just character. God’s love is based on His righteous laws and precepts.  Just as God put fundamental laws in the universe to govern the physics of time space and matter, He also has laws to govern the hearts and minds of very sentient, free will being in His creation. This is the law of love, the law of goodness, the law of God that governs all of eternity. The Lord God put the tree there to show all of heaven that He truly gives His children free will, the freedom to make independent choices, even if wrong ones… to fully respect the hearts of men to freely choose rather than to be forced to obey. The Lord God truly hoped His son and daughter would never choose to act outside the known laws of God, to stay in the love and goodness of God’s light.

But now Adam and Eve were hiding in shame and fear of their Father, who they once had no shame or fear of. The Lord God knew they must have eaten from the tree that was forbidden. It was the only way that such negative emotions would be inserted into paradise. In one single act of disobedience from their Father, Adam and Eve came to know what evil was… “experiencing” now both good and evil… and breaking the moral code that had been pre-programmed into Adam’s core operating system, the laws of God written into Adam’s heart and conscience. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil would strip Adam and Eve of their singular nature. They would no longer be a reflection of God’s image, no longer pure and holy. They would have a dual nature of both good and evil.

Now, Eden was no longer so brilliant with light, as shadows of darkness seemed to slither across the landscape. But even so, the Lord God still cried out, in the stillness of that moment when all the angels wept with heavy hearts at the emptiness of Eden that was once filled with love and laughter. God still called out for His son and daughter until all of creation heard the cracking sadness of the Father’s voice crying out, “Adam, where are you, my son?” Eve, where are you my daughter? “Adam, where are you.”

The beautiful communion was now broken as innocence and purity was stolen from the soul of man. The holy God of brilliant light and eternal habitations could in no way deny His holiness, his goodness and just character to fellowship now with evil and darkness. He would have to sever His bond with his beloved son Adam. He could no longer walk with Adam in the paradise of intimacy. The law of God had been broken and the penalty was death. Father God had warned Adam, “The day you eat of this tree, you will surely die.” Now they had eaten of it, and the law of God demanded the penalty to be paid. Adam and Eve and all the children of men would be mortals and their days would be numbered on the earth.

The sad fact was that Adam and Eve had been given free access to all the other trees in the garden, including another tree that would have prolonged their lives indefinitely, for all of eternity had they continually ate from it, it was the Tree of Life. It was the tree that had the fountain of youth flowing from it’s branches. The fruit of this tree when eaten would have rejuvenated the deepest cellular structures of Adam and Eve so that they never grew old. The Tree of Life alone had the power to make all things new.

Adam and Eve were exiled out of Eden, no longer able to access the Tree of Life, and for the first time in all of eternity, paradise seemed empty and void of something that once flourished. Angel’s tears flowed down from those that guarded Eden as they groaned in anguish at the silence of the children who were missing from paradise. They could no longer hear Adam and Eve’s innocent laughter or the sound of Father God’s loving voice communicating with His children… a voice that thundered with radiant love through out all of Eden. No, the angels could only hear the haunting echo of Father God’s broken cry, the deep sorrowful question that still bellows out to all of humanity today, to all of Adam’s sons and daughters, “Adam, my son, Where are you?” “Eve, my daughter, Where are you?”, “Adam, where are you?”

Since the beginning of creation, and throughout all of human history, the sons and daughters of Adam have multiplied to cover the face of the earth. And there has been not one soul who has come and gone upon this mortal plane, who the Almighty Father of creation has not cried out the same words He did in the garden, “Adam, my son, where are you?

Every soul of man has been watermarked with this echo of God’s great travail, “Adam, my son, where are you?”

Every human heart has been branded with these fiery word’s that flow from the tears of God, “Adam, my son, where are you?”

Those of you who are enslaved to drugs and alcohol addiction with seemingly no way out, you lie on the cold streets of lonely cities across the world, wishing someone cared or someone would intervene on your behalf, Father God sees you, He cares and calls out to you, “Adam, My son, where you? Those of you who are teenagers and you’ve lost all purpose and motivation for living, and you stand at the verge of suicide, Father God see your heart, He calls out to you in the void, “Adam, my son, where are you? Eve, my daughter, where are you?”

Those of you who are young ladies who have been forced into slavery, tossed around like a ragdoll dehumanized by wicked men who only see you as a expendable pleasure, and you are so abused and beaten down that your life becomes unbearable without a fix of chemicals to keep you always high, but you lay upon your bed with a dream of what life could have been for you, and a tear falls upon your troubled face, a tear that God himself has borne within you, that cries out, Daughter of Adam, where are you?” Eve, My daughter, where are you?”

Those of you whose every waking hour and only ambition in life is to pursue money, power and materialism, not knowing that in the end, your life is a vapor and none of your possessions will follow you to your mortal grave, God cries out to you, Adam, where are you? Those of you who delight in evil pleasures who only live to fulfill fleshly appetites, to pursue your sexual perversions and promiscuity, you may militantly deny your evil behavior is even wrong and though you have a good amount of society encouraging you in your rebellion and immorality, but deep down, the laws of God are written in your heart and you know what you are doing is wrong. Father God is calling out to you as well, “Adam, where are you?” Eve, Where are you?

Across the crowd of faces of all Adam’s sons and daughters, in every venue of life, if you can read beyond their superficial smiles and laughter, you can see a deep loneliness in their eyes, in their souls… that cry out for something they know is desperately missing in their lives… a splinter in their hearts that groan for an intimacy beyond the realm of mortal men… Eternity is in their hearts, a faint and indistinct residual image upon their conscience… of a paradise lost, everlasting life forfeited, and a hollow loneliness of soul yearning for Eden’s beautiful intimacy once again with Father God, their Creator.

If these sons and daughters of Adam could just pierce through the dark veil of their own rebellion and evil heart… if they could rise above the noise of vain philosophy and false religion, they would clearly see and hear the true God of creation crying out as He did in Eden, “Adam, my son, where are you? Eve, my daughter, where are you?” They would hear God’s calling, beckoning them back to Eden, back to true fellowship with the Father of all living things.

 Religion & Churchianity & The Double Nature

Today all religions, including much of institutional Christianity and the church are actually anti-God, a deceptive substitute for Eden, for true intimacy and fellowship with Father God. Religion and churchianity is meant to deceive us into accepting empty ritual and placebo God experiences, that are a form of a relationship with God, but deny the true power and substance of knowing God personally and intimately.  When Jesus came on the scene, He rebuked much of institutionalized religion as a fraud and a scam. He exposed the ideas of a pretentious religion that made God into an unreachable nebulous cloud out in space or too high and mighty for common people to access. Jesus spoke of God as a loving father, who yearned to show His goodness to the sons and daughters of Adam. If you look closely at the main theme woven throughout Jesus’s teaching, it is clearly to reveal that God is our Father who we can truly seek to know.

The destitute, the needy, the broken, the outcast and the poor, we all live in perpetual hopelessness and fear until the great light of the Messiah shines on us to reveal that the God of Heaven is very real and He reaches down to the humble and broken, to the sons and daughters of Adam to show us that we are no longer orphans, the Lord God is our Father.

Many self-proclaimed “spiritual authorities”, religious institutions and churches are just a way for men to circumvent a true intimacy with Father God. They become the middleman between God and men. Instead of solely leading men to put their faith in a living Savior and a real personal God that we can all get to know, they love to control and manipulate you through religion and their self ordained authority. But the truth is, a true Godly leader is a humble servant whose only job is to point people to the living Christ, the true and living God. We must have a personal walk with God not just a good church attendance or even a self promoting ministry to try to gain a following. It is emptiness and vanity without knowing God.

Religion replaces intimacy with imitation, the true presence of God with a pretense of God, feelings that try to conjure up goosebumps and chills. True relationship is replaced with religious exercise. True passion is replaced by emotional frenzy. True love is replaced by spiritual infatuation.  True inward character development is replaced by outward charisma and personality for grandstanding. The true “transforming” power of God is replaced by “conforming” to outward doctrine and “do’s and don’ts”.  Many religious people only retain God in their thoughts and their emotions during their ritual time at church on Sundays or when they gather but God is not truly the love of their life. Like Jesus said, they draw near with their lips but their hearts are so far from me.

So many people are caught up in false religion and churchianity. But no matter how hard they try to rid themselves of their emptiness and guilt ridden souls through pious façade and pretentious religion, deep down they know they are alone, without the true presence of God. They know something is desperately lacking in their “faith”, in their religion, that Eden, the garden of a beautiful intimacy with God is not truly in their hearts. If they would just turn from their hypocrisy and pretentious religion… God would reveal himself to their sincerity and humility… if many preachers and teachers would go beyond the infatuation of hearing themselves recite eloquent prayers or sharing nice intellectual, motivational messages that really are only meant to lift themselves up as some sort of spiritual giants… which they are not… there’s only one spiritual giant that I know of… If they could hear how hollow their words were and be honest enough to admit that they are only going through the motions in order to impress people, then maybe they could be humble enough to hear that faint cry in their religiously messed up souls, the cry of Father God who is calling out to them, “Adam, my son, where are you?” Eve, my daughter where are you?

Why are you pretending to walk with me in the garden? Why can’t you really walk with me along Eden’s pathways? Why the elaborate hoax of getting people to think you are a spiritual leader when you clearly don’t even know me? Jesus said, “Many will come on that day, saying Lord, Lord, but I will declare, I never knew you! Adam, my son, where are you”?

You see, no matter how virtuous we may think we have become in our man made religions, our hearts are just as desperately wicked as the most evil men who walk the earth today. To assume we are a better person because we compare ourselves with other sons and daughters of Adam is so very foolish. Virtue may damn more souls to destruction than vice ever could… Why? Because we deceive ourselves to think that goodness is something we acquire by doing good deeds or performing religious duties. But apart from God, all our righteousness is as filthy rags. The tree of good and evil is the double helix within our spiritual DNA. Becoming a religious person and doing good deeds doesn’t change our dual nature. We are still evil. Jesus knew what was in the heart of man and those who use religion to promote themselves, no matter how pious or godly they seem are self deceived about their goodness. They are only “white washed tombs full of dead men’s bones”, as Jesus put it, exposing the dual nature of men.

A great messenger of God once said, that if the devil can’t damn your soul through the pleasure of sin, He’ll damn your soul through the pride of virtue. Jesus cried out, woe unto you Pharisees, hypocrites, double souled. We cannot become good by merely becoming a disciple of morality or religion just as putting a Band-Aid over our cancer will not affect a cure. We do not “do good” to become good, lest we take credit for ”our own goodness” and become self righteous.  In Romans, Apostle Paul wrote about the struggle of a dual nature within us. But he also told of Christ Jesus as the hope of redemption. Only through Christ and His Holy Spirit can we be tried, transfigured and purged of an evil heart. Only through intimacy with God are we filled with His Holy Spirit and His goodness becomes an expression within our souls. Only through His righteousness are we able to exceed the righteousness of the Pharisee. God alone is good and the only way to be filled with “goodness” is to be filled with God… and the only way to be filled with God is by going back to Eden, to the garden of beautiful intimacy with Him.

The Tree Of Life

In Eden, we find again, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, still there tempting us to pursue our own course without God, to start our own religions, to walk our own path of darkness and deception. We are a mixture, we are compromise. We are a duality of soul, double minded, with two natures. Within ourselves, we can never be totally good, totally holy and pure.  We can never by our own efforts become like God again, with a singular nature of goodness. It’s impossible. The stain of sin is fused within us. The knowledge of evil is now intertwined within humanity’s DNA to cause us to be an offshoot hybrid of God’s original intention. We are no longer the image of our Father.

The only way man could be redeemed from this stain of evil, this fate of a dual nature would be for God to find a sacrifice, first to atone for the evil, to pay the penalty of death for sin and then to transform the soul of Adam’s race back into the original design, into the image of God, back into a singular nature of purity and goodness.

But who would pay a debt He did not owe, what innocent man would take the punishment of death to satisfy the law…

Father God found only one worthy sacrifice when the other Son, his only begotten, uncreated Son, Yeshua, Jesus, the Tree of Life who stood in the center of Eden from the foundations of the world. He heard his Father’s cry that day, “Adam, my son, where are you?” In the midst of the garden, the Tree of Life came forth and said, Here I am Father. Let me become the second Adam, and the last Adam. Let me as the son of God, go down to become a son of man. I will bring back to Eden all my brothers and sisters, all the lost sons and daughters of Adam. I will repair the breach. I will bring mankind back into a beautiful intimacy with you, my Father. I will make all things new.

And because of His sacrifice on the cross, we can go back to Eden and choose to eat from the Tree of Life there in the midst of the garden, who truly holds the key to immortality and life. The Tree of Life is the Son of God who did not choose the serpent’s poison. He obeyed Father God and never strayed from Eden’s path. He is Yeshua, Jesus. He is the one who came down to seek out all of Adam’s lost children, to show them that they do not need to hide any longer. A way has been made, a bridge back to Eden has been built. All we, the sons and daughters of Adam can be forgiven! We can be delivered, set free from our sin, our addictions and enslavements. We can once again fellowship with God without fear or shame.

Good new, Good news! The gates of Eden are no longer guarded by angels! The sons and daughters of Adam are no longer held in exile! The Tree of Life now invites us all to eat of His branches and drink from the water of life that will spring up into everlasting habitations! Eden is open to all the sons of Adam. Angels are beckoning men to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life. There is joy and jubilee in the garden now.

Many redeemed sons and daughters have rejected the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, no longer deluded about their  supposed goodness. They are broken and humble, who know their hearts are deceitful and wicked without God, who know their spiritual poverty without Jesus. They claim no virtue but His. And all that have this hope in them purifies himself just as He is pure, having the hope of transformation of their souls back into the image of God, into the image of His dear Son. This is what propels them to live as He lived, to love as he loved… not for show or to become puffed up with religious pride or a sense of spiritual superiority.

The Tree of Life is the only cure from death, the only way we who are mortal can find immortality… Don’t you want to live forever? Don’t you want to be restored back to a beautiful intimacy with your Father, the God who created you? Can’t you see, don’t you get it, only those who reject the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, who despise their wicked dual nature, who instead eat of the Tree of Life will live forever, inherit eternal life! It’s the only way! No mixture, no false or pretentious religion to make our evil hearts feel good about ourselves, no trying to do good deeds that cannot take away the evil stain within our hearts, no living with a dual nature of both good and evil… trying to convince others of what a good person we are.

We must be sanctified and set free by the blood of the Tree of Life, Yeshua, Jesus. His goodness alone is the acceptable sacrifice, the worthy offering before Father God.

The Tree of Life sacrificed Himself on the tree of death, the cross, to make atonement for all the children of Adam!

Now when Father God calls out in Eden, “Adam, my son where are you?”, there is a great number of Adam’s sons and daughters who have returned to Eden by way of the Cross.  And the rustling of Eden’s flowery brush is heard again as Adam’s children run up to meet with Father God, responding back to Him, “Father, here I am, here I am! I am right here next to you, Father. I never want to leave you again. I never want to disobey you or hide from you again. You are my Father. You are so good, so holy, so pure, so merciful and gracious, so wonderful, so precious, so incredibly beautiful. Here I am Father, Here I am, right next to you and the Tree of Life, My Yeshua Jesus, my very sustenance, my only hope, my only joy.”

And Father God smiles at the sound of His children once again playing in the garden of Eden. The angels rejoice once again as the garden now flourishes with the love and laughter of Adam’s children.  The joy is truly unbelievable.  The radiance of heaven, God and man in sweet fellowship again!

And yet, Father God looks at all His children in Eden and a deep groaning, an intense yearning overcomes Him for more sons and daughters to return to the paradise of intimacy. He still cries out for the many wandering, hiding children who have yet to come back to Eden, who have yet to experience the true beauty of His holiness, the wonders of His mercy and love. If only the sons and daughters of Adam would seek Him with all their hearts, they would find that God was never far from any one of us. If only they would repent, give up their evil ways and turn to the Tree of Life, the lamb of God that takes away their sin and their guilt, oh, they would truly understand the secret…the secret that it is only the pure in heart that can ever see God. If you want to see God, guaranteed, you must cry out to him in sincerity of repentance! You must ask Him to forgive your sins and purify your heart. It’s the only way back to a singular nature of God’s goodness in us. It’s the only way back into Eden, into the everlasting kingdom of God.

But now, it is Father God who continually cries out to us , to this generation of Adam’s lost children, missing from Eden, He cries out in all human hearts, everywhere… “Adam, my son, Where are you?” And if you will quiet your own wayward heart, if you will silence your own rebellious or religious thoughts, if you lean your soul toward Eden, towards the Tree of Life and Tree of death, the Cross of Christ, if you but strain your inner ear, you will no doubt hear your Father God calling you also, “Adam, my son, where are you?, Eve, my daughter, where are you? Adam, Where are you?”
