The Tears Of God

I see a teary-eyed God at His throne of holiness, watching His creation destroy themselves. He sits at the edge of His mercy seat poised and ever ready to forgive men with all of His heart… His eyes dart to and fro all the earth searching intently, full of hopeful expectation. His heart yearning, “Is there one here…maybe there…who is willing to turn away from evil and do good “. How He remains so hopeful and yet His face is saddened much of the time. A divine loneliness confronts the Author of Life as He wonders why so many souls reject His love and goodness. He wonders, “Doesn’t the beauty of nature stand as a witness to the beauty of My nature? Every tree and mountain peak, every green valley and flowing stream, every sky so lovely, from the rising and setting of the sun, every creature small and great, are they not enough evidence themselves to persuade men of My goodness, My love?”

The Father of all creation decides to show men just how much He loves them and yearns to fellowship with them. He permits His beloved Son to be tortured and killed on a cross that He might restore their hearts back to Him in a sacred relationship.Yet even this act of extreme love moves only a few to love Him back. What more can He do? The ultimate sacrifice and evidence of His love and goodness was done at Calvary. He can do no more to prove His love… The Father and the Son, both rest in their love for all humanity… waiting… longing for men to come to repentance. But it is now up to men whether they will believe in His love. It is up to men whether they will turn from evil because of the goodness of God.

Every soul is God’s creation… a dream of His… Every soul is so precious to Him. How He dreams of giving back paradise to the sons of men. He yearns to give them heaven. Yet He can not go back on His Word nor His laws. The soul that sins will die. The soul which turns from evil will live.

The soul, a spirit within this fragile human flesh is a mortal frame which God breathed into existence. It is subject to the element of death as it’s counterpart, the body. It is a powerful entity on the earth, godlike in it’s free will and expression. The soul which chooses to walk with the God of life in purity and holiness chooses a heaven in his heart and his heart in heaven. The soul which chooses to do evil is destined to the same fate as demons- to be forever destroyed without the life of God, holiness or joy. For the very life their stubborn and rebellious souls rejected is the very life they will long for as the flames of hell destroy them forever. The horror of hell is not in so much as in how lonely, frightfully painful and dark it will be to waste away into annihilation but in how final and forever it is… the soul that sins will perish to be no more, forever cut off from the land of the living. “God is not willing that any should perish but all to come to repentance.”

To reject God’s love and mercy is more than ultimate foolishness but is a damnable act of treason against our Creator. Divine tears are flowing for those rejecting God who do not realize the full implications of God rejecting them. The pleading voice of God sounds urgent warning after warning, “Don’t go that way… I love you!” And every soul that is judged to hell is a heart-wrenching tear of God falling from His cheek into the flames of that dark abyss. Oh, but what can He do? He can do no more to prove His love. He has provided a way. His mercy triumphs over judgement but what can He do when men reject His mercy? He must do justice. He must eradicate evil forever.;Yes, evil and sin is appalling to His holiness but His hand is outstretched still to save… He is willing but will men believe? Will men turn from evil? The tears of God are flowing and who can dry His eyes?

Tears Of God Song

All the unborn babes waiting on death row…
All the starving people, pain and death are all they know…
All the soldiers dying in all the wars combined…
You know he sees it all through tear-filled eyes …

Can you just imagine what Almighty must go through…
The Purest Eyes of Heaven seeing what the wicked do…
Beholding all creation that He once delighted in…
Now grieves the heart of God, mens lives so full of sin…
Who can dry the eyes of the the one who made the skies…
If Angels strive in vain to shut up Heaven’s rain?
Who can offer comfort when the Comforter grieves?
Who can stop the rain, who can relieve… the tears of God, the tears of God…

All the fathers weeping for their daughters on the run…
All the mothers praying for her prodigal son…
All the families broken by sin’s dread curse…
You know He sees it all, you know He hurts…
Jesus, the man of sorrows, acquainted with grief…
Beheld the sons of men in their unbelief…

With all the power at his command, yet He still knew…
that even the Saviour of the world would only save a few…
Who can dry the eyes of the the one who made the skies…
If Angels strive in vain to shut up Heaven’s rain?
Who can offer comfort when the Comforter grieves?
Who can stop the rain, who can relieve… the tears of God, the tears of God…

The Lord is aggressive in His love for us but most of the time we are to blind to see it. He is actively pursuing a relationship with us but we are too distracted to know it. We wonder where God is and He is all around us. Can you hear His heartbeat? It races with excitement when a sinner begins to pray. All the angels must squint their eyes when the countenance of their Commander and Chief brightens at one who is sincerely sorry for their sin. A brilliant light of pure joy explodes from the Almighty when a prodigal comes home. And then God sings and then God dances! He works about the heavens designing and creating another mansion for His new-born child!

The angels always look at the face of their Creator, grieved when He grieves, joyful when He is joyful. His tears are the pain of angels, His smile, the pleasure of angels. When He weeps all the corridors of heaven shake with sorrow. When He sings, every angel breaks into dance! No, angels can not wipe away a tear of God but a soul who repents can dry one! Instead of a tear, a smile is replaced on His Almighty face.

Are you a tear of God or a smile to His face, dear friend? Do you bring God pain or pleasure? Is your life a happy gazing spot for the Almighty or does His countenance saddened when He beholds your heart?
He loves you with a passion…a passion that endured the most painful death ever devised by man… to win your soul. His love and goodness is extended to you now? What else can He do to prove His love for you? Will you reject Him and live without the life of God? Or will you love Him back by turning from sin to Him?
The tears of God are flowing for this world…
Will you dry one of those tears by giving Him your life?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
